With the announcements by the Islamic Regime of impending gasoline (petrol) rationing, the last few days have seen long lines of upset citizens at gas stations throughout Iran. As supplies dwindled, tempers flared till this evening/tonight upset crowds set fire to some 50 gas stations in Tehran and tens of thousands of protesters marched from the eastern part of Tehran called Tehran Pars to Imam Hossein street.

I’ll believe it when I see Catty Curic report it
Heads up!
burn, baby , burn
Serious BUMP!!
DRUDGE REPORT will do......
Iranians were given only two hours' notice of the move that limits private drivers to 100 litres of fuel a month.
Despite its huge energy reserves Iran lacks refining capacity, forcing it to import about 40% of its petrol.
Tehran is trying to rein in fuel consumption over fears of possible UN sanctions over its nuclear programme.
Iran fears the West could sanction its petrol imports and cripple its economy.

The Iron hand will come down and the protests will stop.
The vast majority of the Iranian people are YOUNG...born after the mullahs took power.
Here’s to hoping they take out their own trash, and seek liberty no matter the cost.
We're likely to see that very soon in America too!! Either way it goes now, the resentment is so high that there will be trouble and we can count on that! We KNOW the illegals will riot because the congress critters have already told them to, but they don't know what to expect out of Americans. We're the ones they better worry about. We're the ones with guns!!
Oh the mercy!
If Iranians had half the balls of Washington, Franklin or Jefferson, they wouldn’t know what to do with them.
We are constantly hearing about rebellion, but the only thing we see on TV are burning American flags, and Imadinnerjacket talking about the latest insult he’s flung at the US.
These people will do nothing. Just as we will do nothing when congress passes the amnesty bill.
I love it! lets hope Imahandjob goes up in flames soon.
An interesting little nugget of news there. That, to my mind, is considerably more significant than riots in filling stations. If it does turn out to be Kurds vs. Bassiji I'm thinking I'd bet on the Kurds.

| Iranian gasoline trucks |
Angry Iranians have attacked fuel stations in Tehran, as the government introduced a plan Wednesday to ration gasoline use by motorists.
Witnesses say flames rose from one fuel station as cars burned. Protesters threw stones and shouted angry slogans denouncing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Riot police gathered in the area and tried to disperse the demonstrators.
The rationing plan took affect at midnight Tuesday.
Iran must import about 40 percent of the fuel because it lacks refining capacity. Gasoline, whether imported or domestically produced, is heavily subsidized.
The gasoline rationing plan is aimed at reducing fuel imports and government subsidies.
The plan dictates that private cars unable to use compressed natural gas will receive 100 liters of gasoline per month. Vehicles that can burn compressed natural gas will get much less.
Iran's recent gasoline price increase of 25 percent left the price of fuel at about 10 cents per liter, still some of the cheapest in the world.

Oh those loveble whacky persians!
Theyre upset at gas shortages so they burn down the gas stations?
Thats quick thinking!
Iran short on gas?
Well, they can use nuclear energy! (sarcasm)
That would make them completely brainwashed and fervorishly nationalistic.
You missed the other nugget (negative one). Latest version Russian Mig fighter jets have been arriving in Iran.
I hope you don't play the market; living on the sidewalk is tough.
I think they will take out their own trash. I just hope they know that’s the way it’s going to be. I hate when our politicians make promises they don’t keep, and people drop like flies because they believed them.
The mullahs days are numbered. May they get strung up on lamp posts.
We’ve heard this before. No amount of “unrest” will unseat the mullahs.
I keep thinking we should air drop 10 million handguns with a hundred rounds of ammo with each handgun on Iran and let the younger generation take out the trash.
Wouldn’t that be fantastic!
Not necessarily. It might make them hungry for freedom.
Might work.
And ever so deserving.
Just imagine the problems Iran will have when we destroy their one and only refinery.
You could be right, but, respectfully, let me remind you that the same thing was once said about Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.
Perhaps the spark igniting the real fuse. Wouldn’t it be nice to see all those Mullahs and Amanutjob suddenly facing a firing squad...
I’m sort of curious about why there is not enough refinery capacity in Iran. We have eco-nuts running around here trying to stop new ones from being built, but I cannot imagine that is the case over there. Surely the Russians would have built them a few after the collapse of the Soviet Union, just for the hard currency.
Actually three.
“upset crowds set fire to some 50 gas stations in Tehran “
Oh ya, that’ll help. NOT!!!
Just doing what muzzies do best I suppose.
good point. I bet our guys have already “signed” the munitions that will be used from those carriers over there. (”refine this bitch” comes to mind)
Serious unrest in Iran, good. In Washington would be better.
i’m inclined to agree with you. this will just force the mullah’s agenda to go accelerate faster.
Ping
why is there no refinery capability? my theory is the govt of iran does not believe there is a future for it to invest in. in other words.. something near-term is going to happen that will moot any need for infrastructure investment of this sort.
If we attack Iran, it is to defend ourselves, not to free the so-called innocent Iranians.
fyi ping.
We're likely to see that very soon in America too!!In a day full of hysterical posts this one is tops. Do you really, really think this, or are you just hoping for it?
Im sort of curious about why there is not enough refinery capacity in Iran.Price controls (aka socialism). Look for the same situation in Venezuela soon enough.
All those fuel trucks lines up - waiting:
Where’s an A-10 Warthog waiting to take out this target rich environment??
//
I’m with you. Some of this rhetoric is getting very reckless, and I don’t care how angry people are about the border and illegal aliens. We don’t need to fight with ourselves and spout paranoid claptrap.
I completely agree. However, again, it would be even better if the Iranian people took care of it themselves.
