A Day in the Life of President Bush (many photos): 6-27-07
WhiteHouse.gov & other sources ^ | 6-27-07

Today President Bush spoke at the rededication of the Islamic Center of Washington. (Transcript)

Returning to the White House, the president met with experts to discuss how individual citizens can (and should) have the power to make their own health care decisions, not the government. He spoke about this later in the Roosevelt Room. (Transcript)

First Lady Laura Bush continued her tour of Africa, arriving in Maputo, Mozambique. There, Mrs. Bush met with President Armando Guebuza and toured US funded facilities that are fighting malaria and AIDS while helping the victims of those diseases.

Back home, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke at the US-India Business Council in Washington.

And on a much lighter (and happier) note, President Bush attended the Seventh-Annual Tee Ball Game this afternoon on the South Lawn of the White House. (Transcript)

I am coping ok. I am driving more and practicing my night driving. I don’t know why driving at night freaks me out a little, but I’ve just decided I need to slap myself and get in the damn car (even tho I don’t have anywhere to go. I just drive around.)

I hate to say this, since I know gas prices are a sore point w/folks, but I bought this car the last week of December. Since then, I’ve only put in 30$ worth of gas, in 10$ increments. I’ve still got half a tank.

It’s not that I don’t drive, but I don’t have far to go and I don’t drive everyday. I’m still a big believer in public transportation, which we are blessed to have a wonderful service here in Iowa City.

Understandable about night driving. It’s not that safe.

Public transportation scares me. I suppose it’s just what one is accustomed to.

Thank you, jonny ! How are you and how’s your summer going? It was 94 today in Chicago, then a vicious storm came through for about 30 minutes, and the temp dropped 20 degrees. Summer is here!

All .. there’s a video of the ever graceful, classy and lovely Laura from Africa .. it’s after the one on the death of Liz Claibourne.

Go to “Related Video” and click on “Liz Claibourne Has Died”

***Thanks for posting the information about the “Dose” Someone was asking me yesterday, but I couldn’t explain it***

Don’t worry about it. I think there’s a bunch of gradeschool kids goofing around when they ask that question. Can’t you just hear them? “Hey, I got on the Dose to annoy them, and I didn’t get banned.” Probably like one of those clubs where they have to steal something to join.

And, by the way, you did beautifully yesterday. AGAIN.
