Posted on 06/27/2007 6:45:25 PM PDT by WBL 1952
Called the RNC today and told them I wanted the last two years of contributions back. They said they would send the money I sent them just for the last 12 months - $75.
The first jerk hung up on me when I insisted I wanted at least two years $$ back so I had to call back.
I don't know if they are getting the message or not.
I don’t trust that these new provisions will be enforced as the current laws are not. Not to mention funding not being approved.
There’s no mention of the amnesty on this page except at the end:
‘This Proposal Is Not Amnesty Because...’
Even the president called this amnesty.
Then we’d have independents lying to us. Absolute power....
For some reason when I read this story the first thing that popped into my mind was a old song by Weird Al Yankovich tune:
Hey, wait a minute, what’s the matter, hold on
You want me to hand over the loot
You say you hate my guts, you’re gonna take me to court
And you’ve got yourself a lawyer in a three piece suit
Well you know you’re not the only critic of mine
And if you wanna sue me well you know you better get in line
Cannot recall the rest....LOL
Excerpt from my email to Dubya yesterday: Now amnesty. You disappoint me. Please don’t tell me it’s not amnesty. Democrats bend definitions, I expect better from you.
Last I checked this was a conservative web site. If the pubs want votes get the chamber of commerce to vote for them.
If the money goes into the local economy, that would be a much better use of it.
Weird Al Yankovich......will be in Tulsa next month. I’m thinking of going......
Yep. I am officially no longer a Republican. I am a conservative. 99% of the conservatives I will support happen to be Republicans, but many Republicans are not conservatives, and I will have no part of them.
Good for you!!
I never give money to the RNC.
My contributions are to:
Vets of Foreign Wars
Disabled American Vets
I sleep well!
We can't do anything about that however at least we are rid of them.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
hahah I haven’t contributed since 2002! dirtbags.
Not that he'd do that, but some koolaid drinkers here would lap it up if he did. What does he have to do to lose some peoples support?
Please remember that this is a Forum!!!!...
Are they required to refund your political campaign contribution?
Glenn Beck made an excellant suggestion on talk radio today. The RNC sends out request for donations which include a “returned adressed” envelope which states that the postage will be paid by the RNC. Take a brick and wrap it up. Tape the RNC’s return envelope to the front of the package and mail it. The RNC will be obligated to pay the postage. It is my understanding that each brick mailed back “first class” will cost them approximately $200.00. Might be worth thinking about.
Yes I read that comparison of immigration rules at the RNC.
You are assuming that congress will do everything they say......just like we believed in 1986.
I explained to them why I wanted my money back, that it was the immigration reform bill, and lott, graham, spector, and a few others have ticked too many Republicans off for the last time.
Your post would be different from one made at Democrat Underground in what way?
Outside of civil war, refusing to pay taxes etc, we are left with little choice but to hit them where it hurts.
This is an excellent vehicle to that end.
Anymore, postage is more a function of package size and distance than weight.
.......lo and behold, my phone rang just before dinner tonight. A young man from the RNC was giving me the full court press verbally on how my donation will help keep the Dems from big victories next election, blah, blah.
That's when I let him have it, politely, but forcefully....I knew he was a fine volunteer. I told him how the President and the Party had left ME, not the other way around, blah, blah.
To make a long story short, we got to talking and in response to my questions, he stated he's getting ditto on most of his other calls, with plenty of blue language burning his ears. He really warmed up, told me he's having little or no success in getting pledges....and the conversation ended with him agreeing with everything I was saying and even going beyond what I was saying.
Looks like a revolution of some GOP volunteers right within the belly of the RNC beast!
See Right Thinkin’s #45.
Some damn good and correct proofreading.
I don’t want to COST them money that would partially go to conservatives. That would be counterproductive. I just want my money going to conservatives of my choice only.
How many posts do you see that say, let's send money to DeMint or somebody like him vs. how many posts do you see that say no more money for the RNC?
Some of the Democrats elected last year are more conservative than my Republican senator. I’d SURE rather vote for them than a useless RINO.
Feel free to leave and go to DU then. This is NOT the Bush loveline! It is a conservative site.
Bush has proven NOT to be a conservative and called us bigots for not bowing down to his demand of 30 million “new” US citizens being given free stuff paid for by us.
I voted for him twice and was once called a Bush-bot. NO MORE! I have seen the light and its not Bush. He is a traitor and a fraud. He prefers Mexicans to Americans. He can kiss my a$$ from now till Jan, 2009. I will never support him in anyway whatsoever again. PERIOD!
You are assuming that because they will send no more to the RNC, that they will send to NO Repubs. I say no more for the RNC, but give GENEROUSLY to conservative candidates. I imagine that’s what most here mean, seeing as they indentify themselves as CONSERVATIVES. They’re not throwing the baby out with the bathwater, just refusing to change the RINO’s diapers.
Not true. First class is limited to 13 ounces. The post office won't take a brick as first class mail.
Maybe if Bush “officially” joined the Democrat party, he’s almost there anyway, and was adopted by Teddy kennedy they’d abandon him? nah, they’d probably hail that too.
Amazing that they think that we are voting for Hillary now that we no longer give blanket suppot to people with an R after their name. at least 1/4 of them are COMPLETE LIBERALS, and I don’t want a dime going to them. I’ll pick and choose individuals who will represent me, not play act.
How about 13 ounces of rocks?
well for one, they insist on building a wall instead of open borders with all the goodies included.
Great tag line!!
Over 13 ounces is called Priority mail and is the same thing with a fancy name. I know because I used to ship 50 packages a week when I sold on eBay.
How about returning LIBERAL Republican’s mail with heavy crap in them. Why take money from the RNC, part of which would go to the few conservatives left in the party. Just don’t GIVE to the RNC, give to conservatives only.
That will get their attention, but it will only cost them about 3 bucks (or 32 pesos).
Send them Monopoly money ;-)
I gave up on the RNC back when Robert Dole was minority leader. I only give to the candidates of my choice. I supported Michael Steele in the Maryland race. The RNC has long been a diaster and I will never support that train wreck again.
Now the GOP elites are really going to hate us. Your account simply illustrates that GOP donors are converting the GOP volunteers that are supposed to solicit funds for the elites. This is going to hit them where it hurts. But not a bad idea. everyone that gets a call should engage them in a long pleasant conversation and see how many of their solicitors we can pull away from the RINO’s.
WBL 1952, Great job! That money can be better put to use with someone that deserves it.
Thanks! can’t claim credit for its origin, but was kindly allowed to use it as my own. :-)
What’s the matter? Slashing the tires of our rnc vans didn’t work out all that well for you people the last time, did it?
Same here, LOL.
