Rebel against America, Chavez urges Russia

The president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, called on Russia to challenge America's superpower status yesterday as part of a growing revolution against the "tyranny" of Washington.

Arriving in Moscow for what is believed to be an arms-buying spree, the extreme Left-wing Latin American leader urged Russians to revive the thinking of the founder of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin.

"They don't want Russia to keep rising," he said, referring to America. "But Russia has risen again as a centre of power and we, the people of the world, need Russia to become stronger.

"We should remember Vladimir Lenin and come back to his ideas, especially when it comes to anti-imperialism."

Mr Chavez opened a cultural centre in Moscow, accompanied by a troupe of Venezuelan dancers and singers and a large delegation of military officers.

He is expected to address members of parliament today and go to the races with President Vladimir Putin in southern Russia on Saturday before travelling on to Belarus and Iran.

Mr Chavez, who frequently warns his countrymen of an imminent attack by the US, played down suggestions that he was in Moscow to seal a deal to buy Russian submarines.

The purchase would be the latest addition to a growing list of military hardware oil-rich Venezuela has bought in recent months, to America's alarm.

Last year Venezuela spent £1.5 billion on helicopter gunships, fighter planes and rifles from Russia.

Mr Chavez hinted that helicopters might be next on his military shopping list before his departure for Moscow. In Belarus he is reportedly to discuss buying hardware for an air defence system.

The Venezuelan leader yesterday emphasised the need of cultural resistance to America's "imperial bombardment".

He also welcomed Russian investment in his country's booming energy sector. He said that US companies unwilling to stick by Venezuela's move toward nationalisation of oil resources should leave.

Mr Chavez has been feted during his visit. The Russian MP, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, said: "He's the best president on the planet ... There's nothing wrong with Russia being friends with leaders who are anti-American because the whole world is anti-American."

His country’s “booming energy sector” is faltering because he is stealing the wells and refineries from the rightful owners and is not reinvesting the capital to keep them running. The daily output from Venezuela has dropped rapidly since he took office. Pretty soon he won’t have all that oil money to buy arms to suppress his own people.

What would this clown do if he didn’t have America? Venezuela’s another Latin American country down the drain.

The whole world is anti-American?

Then let’s stop FEEDING the entire world!

As for Chavez, be glad that we don’t have a woman President (and I don’t mean Hillarious either), because a woman would finally push the red button, and make him glow in the friggin’ dark.

The president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, called on Russia to challenge America's superpower status

You wanna start the Cold War over again? Russia lost once, remember? You're asking for your own defeat. If everyone hates America, fine, we'll stop supplying food and trading with the world and then when everything goes down the drain they'll have no one to blame but their own miserable selves.

We should be locating the Venezuelan equivalent of the Contras and start funding and training them to overthrow Chavez.

He's an enemy. We should replace him ourselves.

"We should remember Vladimir Lenin and come back to his ideas..."

Putin glorifies the foul history of Lenin's genocidal Cheka and its satanic spawn, the KGB, which he faithfully served all his life in the interest of enslaving his fellow Russian people to Godless communism. Putin misses the Soviet Union because he was one of its oppressors, not one of the oppressed. Putin says he refuses to allow Lenin's hideous corpse to be removed from Red Square because he doesn't want those who like himself, dedicated their lives to the EVIL EMPIRE to believe they were wrong.

I Don’t think another Cold War would be such a good idea at this time mate. Consider the changes with Russia this time around compared to the old and corrupt former Communist USSR.

The old USSR was a socialist backward economy country and could not afford to compete with the US when it came down to monetary wealth.

Now Russia has a booming resourse driven economy on the back of huge resourse prices in Oil, gas and Gold. Its foreign debt is non-existant as a result and it has the largest natural mineral resources in the world. With time Russia will get stronger and stronger and as a result more assertive on the foreign policy front.

The US is now over-extended on the foreign policy front and pouring billions per month on foreign wars. This is heating the Economy and causing pressures on the US dollar. More spending on a Cold war type scenario will increase inflation in the economy and hence interest rates which will increase hardship to the general populace.

At the moment the US cant afford a Cold War with Russia unless it cuts its losses in Iraq and bases around the world. If it did get into a cold war with Russia , their will be only one winner this time and it wont be the US.
