I wondered who was doing the Southern Poverty Law Center's dirty work here at FR after hchutch split- looks like you have the desk.

The SPLC works like Red Channels during the McCarthy era- the goal is to drive the target out of decent society by smearing him as crazy, racist, or any of the usual left wing smears. You deserve a raise.

So why didn't the voters in his district vote him out?

Thanks for the post. Tancredo is conservative across the board on all the issues, and he's a champion for human rights too (not the phony Hollywood kind but he geniunely cares about the folks living under brutal dictatorships and wants to help them by not throwing money at the problem).

I see Tancredo as a real sleeper, someone who may go deep in the primaries, and he is just as much of a straight talker as Fred.
