Pantry Pork Chops BBQ Recipe
Its 5:30, youre starving, and you havent a clue what to make. Dont worry, help is just on the other side of the pantry door. Youll be eating in less than an hour. Whew!
For the marinade:
1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 pork rib chops, about 1-1/4 inches thick each
To make the marinade: In a medium bowl whisk together the marinade ingredients.
Place the chops in a large, resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade. Press the air out of the bag and seal tightly. Turn the bag to distribute the marinade, place in a bowl, and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes.
Remove the chops from the bag and discard the marinade. Allow to stand at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes before grilling.
Sear the chops over Direct High heat for 6 minutes, turning once halfway through searing time. Continue grilling over Indirect Medium heat until the juices run clear, 6 to 8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm.
Makes 4 servings.

Anyway, these hamburgers were grilled like Steak 'n Shake is suppposed to do theirs. They have gone downhill since they first opened up here.
I've had Angus burgers at the Raddison which I loved, and one other place, but not the same.
Anyway, there is a restaurant chain in and around Chicago called Schoop's (50's style) which is supposed to cook their hamburgers like I remember. I would like to get there and try them.
Somebody on a food group told me that for them to grill with the browned, lacy edges that stick out from the bun like a good tenderloin but not that far, the meat has to be ground a certain way.
I've tried for years at home, and never got it right. I've bought every kind of ground meat you can think of, even bought a sirloin tip roast or rump roast and ground my own with a hand grinder, that was one horrible mess.
Awwwwwww, whatever! We’re just here to have some fun! :o)
You can do grilled cheese on the George grill..
or grilled pb and banana..
Sounds YUMMY El Gran!
*HUGS*
The George secret is wipe it down with a paper towel when it is still scorching hot...They are a bear to clean cold..
Of course I'm talking about the food. BYJ is not on the BBQ menu! LOL!
Our grill is getting kind of elderly too...
I prolly should get a new one soon!
Ms.B
Hi, Sissy!
I’ll take any hints about the grill.
As you know...I have no culinary imagination. :D
I can be more specific...dak kalbi (Korean BBQ Chicken), a Chuncheon speciality!
Lemme know if traction makes you taller...Might want to try it myself....
Sorry you are so sore..
Hope the traction helps..
Well, ain't you the loved one!
BBQ shrimp: 2 lb colossal shrimp, butterflied and laid on a cookie sheet one upon another with tails up, on top of sprinkled red pepper powder. Poured over by a mixture of 1 bottle of HOT BBQ sauce blended with 1/2 lb. butter. Broil until tails turn brown.
Eat as fast as possible!
The following is a direct quote from the Center for Strategic and International Studies report on GLOBAL ORGANIZED CRIME; the author who introduces the story swears it's true.
FBI agents conducted a raid of a psychiatric hospital in ---------- that was under investigation for medical insurance fraud. After hours of reviewing thousands of medical records, the dozens of agents had worked up quite an appetite. The agent in charge of the investigation called a nearby pizza parlor with delivery service to order a quick dinner for his colleagues. The following telephone conversation took place and was recorded by the FBI because they were taping all conversations at the hospital.
Agent: Hello. I would like to order 19 large pizzas and 67 cans of soda.
Pizza Man: And where would you like them delivered?
Agent: We're over at the psychiatric hospital.
Pizza Man: The psychiatric hospital?
Agent: That's right. I'm an FBI agent.
Pizza Man: You're an FBI agent?
Agent: That's correct. Just about everybody here is.
Pizza Man: And you're at the psychiatric hospital?
Agent: That's correct. And make sure you don't go through the front doors. We have them locked. You will have to go around to the back to the service entrance to deliver the pizzas.
Pizza Man: And you say you're all FBI agents?
Agent: That's right. How soon can you have them here?
Pizza Man: And everyone at the psychiatric hospital is an FBI agent?
Agent: That's right. We've been here all day and we're starving.
Pizza Man: How are you going to pay for all of this?
Agent: I have my checkbook right here.
Pizza Man: And you're all FBI agents?
Agent: That's right. Everyone here is an FBI agent. Can you remember to bring the pizzas and sodas to the service entrance in the rear? We have the front doors locked.
Pizza Man: I don't think so.
It didn’t make me any taller!
LOL
I hope it helps too..
Wicked sore right now, but this too, shall pass..
(I hope)
Ms.B
So glad you got to go this weekend.
Did you win, Sir Knight?
I tried this dry rub last week, doubled the recipe, it was very good!
Dry Rub:
8 tablespoons light brown sugar, tightly packed
3 tablespoons kosher salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon jalapeno seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon rubbed thyme
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Just about ready to head to the airport. Pictures taken today of Tonkin’s memorial service, but I can’t download til Tuesday after work. 5 PGRs in a missing man formation starting at the funeral home. This was their first time to ride with a service flag...Coast Guard flying proudly! We followed them and a bus insisted on getting between us. The PGR stopped them and told them to let us in. They did!
Passed a few other bikers who all acknowledged the PGR. Nice! At the cemetery were 20 to 30 more riders with flags. They left early and staged at the memorial site.
There were 2 army guys who brought the flag and the urn to the service area. Then a 3 gun volley and a bugler played taps. Then the flag was refolded and presented to Matt.
A piper played Eternal Father and then Amazing Grace.
Are we having those yummy shrimp at your house?
I usually split chicken breasts rather than flatten them..
Get some chicken rubs ...I make a bunch at once and then slice to throw on salads or make chicken fajitas’s with them..
Evening leda!
WOW! That place looks awesome, thanks for posting!
*HUG*
They were an annivesray gift!
Them shrimp sound yummy BB!
Ms.B
Oh, Kathy. You got to go to his memorial. I wondered if you would.
God rest his soul.
Schuxy durn..I was holding out hope.
I have a feeling ours will be well-used to. Hubby loves to
be the mad scientist of the kitchen.
He did grill some red onions and a huge bella mushroom with the steak.
First battle was a loss, second a win, the final climactic bridge battle was a very close fight, but still lost.

*HUG*
I was with you in spirit, Ma..
Ms.B
Thanks Kathy.
Service was very touching..Glad they were able to do the volley.
I’m glad you could attend.
I didn’t know Pakis could do BBQ! LOL!
