BEIJING (AP) -- Chinese inspectors found dozens of children's snacks that failed food standards and seized hundreds of bottles of fake human blood protein from hospitals, officials said Tuesday.
China's dismal health and safety record -- both within and outside its borders -- has increasingly come under the spotlight as its goods make their way to global markets. Major buyers like the United States, Japan, and the European Union have pushed Beijing to improve inspections.

“The world pushes China” to improve standards. In the mean time, we continue to import these items. Books claim we cannot get along without the Chinese goods. Sounds like Bush and the illegals BS.

The Chinese are learning that those pesky quality/safety/environmental bugaboos really cut into the ol’ profit margin. Its hard to care about the end-user.

you have to call each manufacturers demand they send you a letter listing states of origin of their product so that you have something to sue them with

There are so many outbreaks of this & that now. Recalls ALL the time. With things like fibromyalgia & things doctors can’t explain you have to wonder how deep this really goes.
Everybody has this general, vague notion that ‘the authorities’ check up on this kind of stuff, but when you read about the FDA or other inspectors, they say stuff like, “We can not inspect everything.”
I do not think anyone is checking.
Yesterdays news had a story of a Chinese guy in Mexico, who imported drugs. The Mexican police found 150 million dollars in cash, in his house.
