He was a rising star in the "gay rights" movement, but Michael Glatze now declares not only has he given up activism he's no longer a homosexual.
Glatze who had become a frequent media source as founding editor of Young Gay America magazine tells the story of his transformation in an exclusive column published today by WND.
Although Glatze cut himself off from the homosexual community about a year and a half ago, he says the column likely will surprise some people.
"This will actually be news to anybody I used to relate to," he told WND.
The radical change in his life, Glatze recalls, began with inner "promptings" he now attributes to God.
"I hope I can share my story," he said. "I feel strongly God has put me here for a reason. Even in the darkest days of late-night parties, substance abuse and all kinds of things when I felt like, 'Why am I here, what am I doing?' there was always a voice there.
"I didn't know what to call it, or if I could trust it, but it said 'hold on.'"
Glatze said he became aware of homosexual feelings at about the age of 14 and publicly declared himself "gay" at age 20. Finally, after a decade in which his leadership role in the homosexual activist world grew but alongside it, a mysterious inner conflict he says he finally was "liberated."
In fact, he writes in his WND column today, "'coming out' from under the influence of the homosexual mindset was the most liberating, beautiful and astonishing thing I've ever experienced in my entire life."
Before "coming out" in his column today, Glatze contacted WND Managing Editor David Kupelian after reading his book, "

I wish the gentleman the best!

I wonder what will cause the left the most grief - that he’s no longer gay or that he’s found God?
Hmmm, where WND bashers?
I imagine them and the “you can’t stop being gay” club will be here in due time.
Interesting that he chose Worldnetdaily as his forum for announcing his “coming out.” I wonder how many freepers will deride wnd as “worldnutdaily.”
Excellent news!
Good article.. thanks for posting it.
God bless him, and thank God for giving him the courage to speak out.
Yes, good idea! Lord, we lift up this courageous man who has not only quit the homosexual lifestyle, but is publicly declaring it. Thank you, dear God, for leading him in the right way. Please protect him from those who would try to seduce him back to a life of darkness and sadness.
We also ask that you give hope to those still in the homosexual/lesbian lifestyle that they, too, can have a normal life. Please help them to turn over their lives to you and experience the joy that only you can give. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
The came the rebellious years. I discovered drugs, school grades dropped, I dropped out of college and joined the military.
The military in the late 70’s was rife with drug abuse. It seemed that if one didn’t smoke pot, one was in the minority. Eventually, a urinalysis was developed and i was caught in 1984. That’s when the real battle over my soul began.
God had his grip on me, and no matter how far away I would stray, he always pulled me back. After the pot fog and alcohol haze cleared, I found that the only true happiness can be found with God. I was able to complete my Navy career, have a loving wife and beautiful daughter, a great job, and the peace of mind and heart that only Jesus can provide.
What a courageous soul! He has my deepest respect.
God bless him! God is good!
AMEN
“Gay Rights Leader Quits Homosexuality.” A wise choice.*
Those who did not choose a life of homosexuality in the first place have my respect. Let’s not go too far in praising someone for having the “courage” to be normal.
This is great news.
I hope this guy has some good accountability.
He is going to be followed, watched and tested in order to gain “proof” that he has relapsed. There may even be some photo-shopped pictures or other false attestations of a “failure to remain changed” on his part.
A beautiful story floating in the middle of a cesspool.
Yep, sexuality is mostly in the head. The goal of gay activists is to convince young children as young as possible to accept the 'gay' label.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, `Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' But the father said to his servants, `Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet; and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry; for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to make merry. Luke 15: 20-25

God can & does change lives!
I’m sure you have read the story of the prodigal son. When the older son became angry over the festivities for the prodigal the father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’
God bless him.

It sounds to me like this man’s decision to conform his behavior to what you call normal and what I would call avoiding sin was not as easy a decision as you might think. We are all tempted to do things that are not right (leaving aside the argument that some would make that homosexual behavior is perfectly acceptable— a wrong argument I think). My purely animal instincts would, if followed, lead me to have as much sexual contact with attractive women as I could. I’d also steal when I thought I would not get caught and take advantage of those weaker than myself. I don’t do those things because I believe that they are sinful and wrong, and I am trying to lead a life that falls short of God’s requirements as seldom as possible (I still sin, of course.).
We cannot determine what our desires are, we can only control our behavior. I commend this man for seeing his behavior as wrong, and controlling it. I hope that he remains successful.
Ping.
Are you still around? Hope you’re well.

So--we shouldn't act like the father in the story of the prodigal son?
heh—you beat me to it!
... And I'll say no more.
Good for him.
Praise God!
Homosexual Agenda being thwarted ping!
Thank you for sharing your testimony!!
That said, I do take great issue with his theology of finding the true self, the "Christ self" and the Kingdom of God within. I would like him to read John MacArthur (gty.org) or Bob DeWaay (TwinCityFellowship.com, go to "Critical Issues Commentary for some theology reading put in words he can quickly understand) so that he can better understand and articulate his conversion. He has the sin and repentance part right. He just needs some guidance on the other part.
How about we go as far as we can to praise God Who changed him?
22: But the father said to his servants, `Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet;
23: and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry;
24: for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.'
RSV Luke: 22-24
Thank you for posting your testimony. It gives us hope.
I expect he'll find it soon enough. He sounds like another Apollos in the making.
I was going to say “Great Minds think alike,” but here the Holy Spirit is testifying to the truth!
Most times I use a fishing analogy (see the tagline), God got his hook in me, and though I fought and sometimes ran the line off, eventually he boated me.
Most times I use a fishing analogy (see the tagline), God got his hook in me, and though I fought and sometimes ran the line off his reel, eventually he boated me.
Let’s hope and pray he is a pied piper leading many out of the sinful lifestyle, and bringing them to Christ.
Stick with God, pal....trust in the Lord. And ignore the naysayers that say He doesn’t exist, and ignore the liars telling you that God endorses homosexuality. Everyone has some burden to bear, so yoke placed upon them. Attraction to the same sex isn’t a sin...acting on it is. Just remember that. The Lord will find you a good woman to help you in this life if you trust in Him.
:o)
God sure knows how to keep the line from breaking!
I congratulate this guy since he seems to have wanted to change and succeeded. Still, I wonder if he is now attracted to women or just ignoring his same-sex desires.
Also..
"Looking back on his old lifestyle, Glatze told WND whenever he had a sense that he was doing something wrong, "I would I just attribute it to, 'that's just the way life is.'"
"If ever I were to question anything, [my colleagues] would say, 'You're such an idealist.'"
Glatze said he thought opponents of homosexual activism were "mean and crazy, and they wanted to hurt me."
"I thought they were out to get me," he said. "They made me really, really mad and scared, I think. I wanted them to go away."
As I said, I congratulate him on making the change he wanted, but it sounds like this guy had some problems besides being attracted to men.. I'm sure there are lots of gay people out there who would tell their colleagues to quit being such whores, that pro-family activists aren't evil but just ideologically opposed, that nothing about same-sex desire makes you a robot unable to control and channel your own behavior.
I have never known a truly bisexual man. Everyone I’ve known was a homosexual in denial....
That said....I am happy for this fellow. I hope it works.
