First off, Hillary can just sit down and shut up. Nobody with the last name Clinton has any right condemning anyone else for being a liar. Seems like her old man knows all about lying to a grand jury. It also seems like I don’t remember him going to jail over it.

Which is too bad.
::::::
He should have gone to jail for CHINAGATE (high treason)...but now he is just merrily travelling the world, laundering political contributions from OUR ENEMIES for Hillary....whom our enemies want to see in the White House in the worst way. The world’s sleaze likes their own kind, so they can influence American policy.

That's why Bush didn't give a full pardon, BTW . . . because Libby will end up clearing his name entirely when the conviction is overturned and the charges are thrown out.

I hope you are right, on both counts. I'd like to think Bush actually did it the right way for the right reasons. And Libby of course deserves exoneration.

But I have become rather cynical the last few years, so I have my doubts on the former. Regarding Libby's exoneration, I have no idea what to expect. Seems like it ought to happen, but the whole business was so bizarre and should never have happened, I'm beginning to think one can't apply logic when discussing it.

It’s becoming clear that democrats and the media consider lying a very serious offense. Seriously, though, folks...

Let’s see: Scooter “lies” to an FBI agent, 30 months, $250K. The “greatest crime of the century.”
Battlefield Bill lies to Federal Judge Susan Webber Wright - his friend - in court, during a trial, after being sworn in, $90K. No coverage.

Okay, NOW they consider lying serious.

I agree entirely.

Why has there been so little ink devoted to the Appellate Court that insisted Libby go to jail pending judicial appeal? Why haven't they taken any heat for the blow-back that THEY caused by their ill-considered decision?

What were their motivations? Even if you don't buy into the dubious merits of the conviction (like I don't) there are other factors to consider:

Libby isn't a flight risk (After all he isn't a Dhimmi!)
The process was going forward (Unless they don't believe Repubs deserve their day in court)

The left likes to prop up the "argument" that Libby represents the tip of the iceberg and that, given immunity, he would sing like a canary and ostensibly rat out all of the Whitehouse.

I believe the opposite - the court was in a rush to get Libby safely ensconced behind bars where he couldn't implicate Fitzfong, Wilson, Russert, and more.

All of this is partisan politics. All of it is dirty. Even if Libby isn't guilty of the "crime" he was convicted of (as I believe), he was certainly in the muck, wrestling with pigs. His failure was, like the other FReeper suggested, was that he failed to protect himself like Dhimmis do ("Scooter could've saved himself by saying "I don't recall" 1150 times like Hillary Rodham Rodham did.").

Read the minutes of the hearing regarding klintoons pardons that took place in 2001:
http://commdocs.house.gov/committees/judiciary/hju71180.000/hju71180_0.HTM

We’ve been down this road before and the Dhimmis know that there isn't anything they can do to stop Bush from granting this commutation or an eventual pardon (should it prove necessary).

What they intend to do is to poison the minds of the voting population my making it appear that this is something that only "corrupt Republicans" do. They will point out the pardons by our team and hope that no one points out the pardons from their team.

Our job is to make certain that they don"t get away with it.

Keep in mind that there is one name conspicuously missing from the list of people related to the Iran-Contra scandal who were pardoned by President Bush (#41) in the early 1990s -- Lt. Col. Oliver North.

He came out of that whole affair looking better than anyone else. There was no need for a pardon in his case, since his conviction was overturned and all charges in the case dismissed by the appellate court. In other words, the appellate court didn't just throw out his conviction and order a new trial . . . they threw and the conviction and ruled that he never should have been charged in the first place.

Bush did a half measure. Didn’t cancel the huge fine etc and could have paid the sap’s million dollar lawyer fees.

Bush did just enough to anger both sides of the isle.

Must like all his drinks, luke warm.

Let Libby Slide????

Libby Status with Clemency:

Disbarred - lively hood destroyed
fined $250,000
2 years probation
Millions of dollars in legal fees - may very well be bankrupt.

Libby slided??? Perhaps in the same way that Job slid...
