You try finding engine accessory brackets for a 72 Cutlass (or brake parts for a 69 VW Bus) anywhere but the collector car catalogs. Worse, try getting that nut off without worrying that you’ll strip the nut or wreck the stud it’s on.

My problem was more of making sure I did it the right way, dealing with 30-year-old hardware, the first time, so I didn’t get myself into a situation that required tools beyond my budget at the time.

Actually, when a man communicates too much with a woman, say via e-mail, phone, texting, unless he’s her “gay friend”, she’ll brand him “needy” or “clingy” or both, and “dump” him. What can a fellow do?

I remember seeing a bunch of men get interviewed in the aftermath of the tsunami, where most of the women had died in their village. The thing they missed the most was the chatter and laughter of women. They looked so sad.

You sound like my wife (yeh, I am lucky)....except for the shoe thing.

Does she view wedding showers and baby showers as an obligation, not a fun activity? Whenever I receive an invititation to one, no matter how dear the friend is, I start trying to figure out a graceful way to get out of attending. ;-)

For the last three years or so, I have had the Mother of All Excuses. "I'm out of town..."
