Meet Cha-Cha:

She "reminds" any Chinese who post something the government doesn't like to stay in their proper place...

Oh, and here's Jing-Jing, her big brother:

Odd that they both have blue eyes, isn't it?

That’s what I call “giving something back to the American people”

Excellent points; deserve repeating:

"Was this for getting caught or for the crime itself?

Any mention of improvements in oversight?

One man overrode the entire system?

Who was complicit with him and who is protected by his silence?

I defer to your experience.

I based my assertion off of an audio clip at the Speech Accent Archive of a native Japanese speaker reading from an English paragraph. He didn't seem to mix the two sounds up, but then again, he is just one person.

Your story sounds VERY bogus.

I wish you would quote me next time so I don't have to go searching for what I said that you find "bogus"

Here's what was said by another poster, whom I quoted and since I am re quoting him, as a courtesy I will ping him to this reply:

There is a rumor going around that Mexicans captured in New Mexico wake up back across the border missing kidneys

I replied:

Not just in New Mexico but as far north as Illinois, where I live too. I have a second cousin whose friend's mother-in-law's brother received a new kidney and liver. He doesn't care if they are from a Mexican, he's proud to get them.

This practice is becoming more prevalent all the time. I only wish there were some ways to warn our undocumented worker friends of this.

Now in response to your accusation of bogusness, I only have this to say: I'm sorry that that reply zinged right over your head.

Oh, fellow Freepers, Please help me understand, I am under the impression that a “State Food and Drug Administration” has existed all the meanwhile. I am also under the impression that “State Agencies” get created as the need arises. I’m conflicted. Freegards,

You have to admit that part sounds bogus, but if you want you can google "kidney harvest", they have some examples of an old urban legend that has changed over time.

You have to admit that part sounds bogus,

Because it is bogus. It was meant to be that way.

I and 2 other posters on this thread posted similar nonsense and it was meant to be nonsense.

I really do know that there is no conspiracy to harvest Mexican's organs.

You're right, I missed the sarcasm.

Sorry about that.

Well, the big r/l problem has to do with the fact that the Japanese r sound has the tongue flush against the top palatte and so it is actually much close to the tongue and teeth pronunciation of the l.

The English r has the tongue balled up and Japanese simply can’t pronounce that easily, like the letter v and th.

I’d say about 5% of Japanese are able to recognizably differentiate r and l in speaking, and maybe 25% are able to hear the difference.
