The excesses of prosecutors are not just limited to liberal prosecutors. There’s no shortage of factually innocent men being exonerated from convictions by DNA evidence over the protestations of conservative prosecutors. I think some of this is due to the political nature of prosecutors. Perhaps if they were handled more as a civil service they might be more interested in the pursuit of truth as opposed to the pursuit of courtroom victories.

If the case has taught us anything, its to be skeptical of the claims of prosecutors and the police. Its human nature to assume when one is arrested for a crime that person must be de facto guilty. Otherwise, why would he have been arrested? This overlooks the fact there's usually another side to the story. A defendant isn't ALWAYS guilty.
