The memories are flooding my mind after reading this.

I was a campaign worker for Barry in New Jersey,of all places, where we got trampled in the election....BUT it set the stage for the election of Ronaldus Magnus 16 years later.

By that time I had come to my senses and left NJ for Florida. Barry Goldwater is a true American hero and I'm thankful that I got to shake his hand on four separate occasions, the most memorable was at the National Review's tenth anniversary dinner in 1965...what a crew was there,WFB,Barry Goldwater,John Dos Passos,Clare Boothe Luce,Steve Allen and many others...It was a wonderful time of my life.

Steve Allen? The Steve Allen?

I thought Steve Allen was in SANE.

One source says, "In 1959, Steve Allen hosted a meeting that founded the Hollywood SANE. Members included Marlon Brando, Henry Fonda, Marilyn Monroe, Arthur Miller, Harry Belafonte, and Ossie Davis."
