Wow. That rats are working overtime trying to beat down that 13% congressional approval rating. President Bush's approval rating is right up there with Jesus and George Washington in comparison.
What's the Democrat election slogan going to be for 2008? "If we still have a country, our job's not finished" ...?!?

Handing the country over to terrorists not only would undermine the fledgling government but also create tremendous instability.
There is a contradiction in his sentence. If there is a fledgling government wouldn't the country be handed over to them instead of to terrorists?
Color me confused. (yeah, yeah...that's not hard to do...BTDT)

No there is no contratiction there at all. What the writer means is if we leave before the job is done the terrorists would take over

They are working for a single digit approval rating and the way they are going they are getting it

Isn't that an assumption?

It seems that Democrats, along with some Republicans, have run out of patience with the surge of 30,000 troops to confront the enemy and reduce violence in Iraq. Patience? It has been almost one month.

For that matter I could offer just as realistic a scenario wherein the Kurds start fighting with Turkey in the North (who see an opportunity to attack an old foe) and the Sunnis and Shias start fighting each other in the South while the fledgling government maintains operational control of Baghdad.
That is just as probable as terrorists taking control.

Democrats Declare Defeat
have the lib/dems ever NOT declared defeat in the past 60 years????
it seems they defend and root for everyone except americans that try to defend the rights/freedom/safety & security of all americans including these stupid lib/dems!!!

In today’s era of instant gratification a month is seen as an eternity.

“if we leave before the job is done the terrorists would take over”
A fact that the cut & run crowd studiously avoid mentioning or confronting every single time they are asked about it. And when the S**T hit the fan one day down the road they will do thier best to deny having anything to do with it.

No it is fact. All you have to do is go back to VietNam and Combodia, and look what happened when we left. The same thing is going to happen. Except there it was the communists who took over millions lost their liveas after we left

No it is fact.
Really!? I wasn't aware that seeing the future was such a refined science. It looks like nothing more than a speculation to me.
All you have to do is go back to VietNam and Combodia, and look what happened when we left.
That's simply conjecture. Just because something happened in the past doesn't mean that the same thing is going to happen in the future.

No not at all. The liberals haven’t learned from their mistakes and are expecting everyone else to make the same mistakes they made

If we're going to keep them off our streets, we have to fight them over there. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which is the less costly course. Why can't liberals?

What mistakes are you talking about? Getting out of Vietnam?
To: goldstategop

Seems to me that they're going to do the same thing as Hamas and Fatah and fight amongst themselves over there. It keeps them over there and gets us out of the way. Let 'em kill each other is my outlook now.

“This short-sighted view — whether from liberals or conservatives — poses a great threat to America. If were going to keep the battle off our soil, abandoning Iraq is the wrong approach to take.”
Couldn’t agree more. Just look at Europe.
