More young people continue to arrive for the Wichita Awakening

WICHITA, Kansas, July 15 /Christian Newswire/ -- An estimated crowd of 500 turned out for a Candlelight Prayer Vigil outside George Tiller's infamous late-term abortion mill to kick off the Wichita Awakening Saturday evening.

Rev. Rob Schenck led the group in prayer for an end to abortion. Rev. Pat Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition also addressed the group. As music played, the group surrounded the clinic, lifting their hands in prayer that the abortion clinic would close and that abortion would end.

Smaller groups gathered around those whose lives had been impacted by abortion to pray for healing and restoration.

Also present were Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, Norma McCorvey, the former "Roe" of Roe v. Wade, Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America, Danielle Versluys of Survivors, and Brandi Swindell of Generation Life.

Hundreds of young people from The Cause chose to come to Wichita to focus on prayer to end abortion because of its prominence as the late-term abortion capital.

George R. Tiller was charged on June 28 with 19 criminal counts of illegal abortions. Tiller is one of the few doctors in the country who will do abortions on viable babies - and he does them for virtually any reason even though Kansas law prohibits post-viability abortions for all but the most serious physical complications.

Sunday, the group will gather at Tiller's mill for more prayer led by Wendy Wright of CWA from 2-4 PM and will hold a praise and worship service at the Mid-America Indian Center from 7 PM to midnight. The event is scheduled to conclude Monday evening.

"Young people continue to pour into town and more are expected to arrive on Sunday," said Operation Rescue's Troy Newman, "We believe that we are seeing a tremendous movement of God. We are blessed to be a part of this amazing event."

How evil...there’s no light whatsoever in Tiller. He’s engulfed in darkness...nothing more than a butcher of these precious babies.

As far as I know, Tiller performs more abortions on viable (capable of surviving outside the womb) babies than anyone else in the world. This makes him the biggest mass murderer alive.

I would go even further than that. He's a mass murderer and a serial killer. All of his murders have the same modus operandi. The sick, evil b*stard probably gets a thrill out of it.

I agree. He actually revels in his carnage, if you look at his own website it’s disgusting.

I missed this. Not that I could have gone but I didn’t realize it was happening. It’s not so terribly far away. Oh well! I will add this to my prayers! How wonderful to have so many show up. This man is disgusting, to say the least.

You could have worn a t-shirt that said, “No, I’m not here to murder my baby.”

It seems that the only thing missing for this murderers resume is a reward for killing this most babies while getting paid to do the killing.

Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, Saddam come to mind as much bigger mass murderers.

Tiller can’t hold a candle to them.

None of these genocidal dictators personally killed that many people, which was what I meant.

However, the American abortuaries have killed more people in the past 33 years than the all of the dictators you listed COMBINED.

The abortions committed in the USA are a scourge with a price unimaginable. We are only beginning to pay it, and it will continue for generations, just as we are still paying a price for tolerating slavery.

However, in fairness to the memories of those who died under the iron fists of the dictators I listed, it must be said that many more died by their hand than from abortion.

Estimates for Stalin alone range up to 60 million, many of those my blood relatives.

Maybe not Tiller, but certainly Harry Blackmun.

Estimates for Stalin’s genocide are all over the board and there is the distinction between those that he set out to kill and those that died as the result of his abyssmal economic programs. However, I did not intend to detract in any way from the horrors produced by madmen like Stalin and Hitler.

The point I am making is that American abortuaries have killed 50 MILLION babies since Roe v. Wade and that is not counting the number killed by drugs like RU-486 and “Plan B.” Worldwide there are over 50 million abortion deaths every year.
