I know that the media reports referred to the volume once in Thomas Jefferson’s library as a Koran, but as far as I can tell it is a translation into English (I don’t think Jefferson ever studied Arabic). According to the Wikipedia article on the Qur’an, translations into other languages are considered interpretations or glosses and are not considered the Qur’an. Moreover, the event where Ellison used Jefferson’s book was not the real swearing-in ceremony but a photo-op.
He needs to be heard loud and clear. This should be printed and if video or audio is available, should be placed in every ad for the Republican president.
It’s surreal, isn’t it? Suicidal madness.
