I reckon that when you’re not only the boss, but you live “over the shop”, so to speak, you pretty much have the run of the house.

To everyone,
I understand immigration is an extremely large issue and an issue that doesn’t favor well for President Bush but I really believe that horse is dead for a long time to come so can we stop beating it on every thread?
Thank you,

The boss crashed a meeting in his own office building?
Since when is a President not welcome to insert himself into the agenda of any meeting that takes place at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?
Now, if the meeting had been held at the Capitol building, and Bush cam bursting in on it, that may have signaled something totally different.

President Bush doesn’t have to worry anymore about reelection. So, he can do and say what he wants - in other words be the president.
I don’t know enough to say whether his Iraq policy is right or wrong. But I will say that I think the man is doing what he thinks is right, not what he thinks is popular. I’ve got to admire this.
It has fallen on his shoulders to decide whether to stay or go and the implictions that mens to the men and women of the armed forces and to the Iraqis and allies, etc. I’m so glad I don’t have to make that decision. I just pray that God will guide the president. Right or wrong, he has my respect.

I may disagree with GW on some things but on this alone I'd vote for him again.
Imagine for a moment that gore, kerry or hillary were president...okay long enough.

Ok, Mr. President, now use that bully pulpit to surprise US with an interruption of the illegal invaders!

The WH communication dept is a mess .
Why do they wait for days after the Dems and the leftist media trashes his Iraqi plan ?
They need to out front attacking there enemies every day and evening .Why did Bush make a big deal and visit the Senate over the amnesty mess and not go it for Iraqi ?
The WH priorities and message is a huge disconnected train wreck.

The fact that Congressional Republican staffers actually thought that President Bush’s “surprise visit” to this meeting was spontaneous is proof that they are not qualified to do their jobs and should be fired.
Staffers are supposed to be savvy about how Washington real politics works and this minor charade shouldn’t have fooled them at all. If they are impressed with such a basic tactic from a friendly President, how can they possibly advise their bosses on the Democrats tactics and strategies?
