A little more than 70 years ago, the most tolerant, safe haven for Jews in all Europe suddenly found itself a totalitarian state. No vast legions had conquered it. In fact, it was a failed artist whose ideas were so crazy the threat simply wasn't believed by polite society. In just a few years, this lunatic nearly conquered all of Europe.
It's often asked, "If only they'd stopped Hitler earlier..." Well "they" didn't. Pacifism and fear caused the world to wait while Hitler grew ever stronger. Leaders diddled while the world was drawn into a war that caused 50 million deaths.
Hitler is not ancient history. Some of you were among the 11,000,000 Americans who had to fight in WWII.
Today we are being fed the same sort of disinformation and apologies for Islamo-Fascism. Shall we diddle now?
The latest video from Imam al Zawahiri (the number two man in al-Qaida) explains his plans in detail... al-Qaida IS leading the insurgency in Iraq. The faithful are not doing well militarily because of those pesky Americans, but fear not. Just listen to the debate in America. The faithful only need to hold on and Allah will convince the infidels to abandon Iraq. Then Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia will fall and al Qaida will rule an Islamic caliphate that spans the Middle East.
Don't believe him? The World paid a terrible price for not believing Hitler.
WHEN we abandon Iraq, al-Qaida will be the most organized force in the area. The Iraqi people aren't doing enough today with all of our assistance. They'll fold in the face of a real threat.
Is this the right war? Are we there for the right reasons? Who cares? That's yesterday's debate. George Bush may be the worst President ever, the most stupid leader in history and may even be guilty of impeachable acts. History will decide.
Regardless, Bush won't be president on January 21, 2009. However, we'll still be dealing with Islamo-Fascism. We are in way too deep now.
But we don't wanna be in too deep, so we will abandon Iraq. So what? Well, now you know. Al-Zawahiri just told us that al-Qaida WILL win if we abandon Iraq. They plan on controlling the Middle East and no one will stop them. We will give al-Qaida a country they could never have taken to launch their jihad and the victory they need to assume the leadership position over hundreds of millions of the world's least educated, most superstitious and most desperate people.
Terrorism? It's a given no matter how nice we play or what we capitulate to. This is about their God, not our insensitivity. Welcome to the post 9-11 reality.
We won't automatically win the war against Islamo-Fascism by winning in Iraq. Whether we abandon Iraq or not, this war will be long and costly, but no war is ever "unwinnable." Like Vietnam, someone will win this.
Sometimes history just sneaks up on you. Our grandparents didn't want war with Hitler any more than we want war with Islamo-Fascists, but ignoring evil only allows it to grow stronger. This is the defining issue of our age. The battle is in Iraq and we'd better not lose there now.
So, do we have the will to save our way of life or will we surrender to fascists simply because they are more dedicated? That's the question our grandparents faced and we're still trying to duck.

No one said that Iraq did it. The crux of the matter is that Iraq is the ‘belly of the beast.’

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that people today are fairly ignorant when it comes to politics, U.S. and World history, religion, etc. So they are dupes who don't know they are dupes. It's all part of the plan to dumb down Americans so people like Pelosi, Hillary, Reid and the various RINOs can find their way into power on the back of a promised "peace" through being nice to the world, the lure of a 'free' health care system of all, and of spreading the wealth around to everyone. They promise that America will be a Shagrila of peace and prosperity if we only detach ourselves from our "old fashioned" traditional beliefs and values, and vote for them. People really are sheep in need of leadership, and when they are under-educated and brainwashed in government-run schools they will vote for whomever promises them the easiest life.

It is not but it wasn’t Saddam who did it. It was Saudies and Egyptians. BTW both are said friends of America.
Saddam they said had build the nuclier device and prepared to use it against West. But.. In reality these all was not true.. So IMO you forget Sddam jut consider how costly is that war. Not even the strong american economy can withstand the waste of almost 1 trln dollars. And it is Iraq the quite weak and lame. Now consider Iran. It is just shudder.
I agree wholeheartedly about the bombing. But the enemy that is Islam is not as conveniently isolated as was Nazi Germany.
The ideaology that was Nazism was dealt a fatal blow when its leader and his government was destroyed.
The toxic ideaology that is Islam has produced millions of Hitlers, and no one,central, target that will eliminate them.
My point was that the free world-THEN- did not labor so hard to find the ‘good’ in the Nazi ‘theology’,if you will. If someone identified themselves as a believer in Nazism we considered them the enemy because WHAT THEY BELIEVED WAS!
Yet, here the world is trying so hard to separate Muslims from Islam the way no one would have insisted on separating Nazis from Nazism. In a way Muslims, themselves, refuse to be separated!
The difference now, IMO, is that we have taken in the enemy ideaology as a Trojan horse, and to eliminate it will mean fighting-not the enemy headquartered in a distant country but the enemy next door.
As a society, we may not have the stomach for that. We insist on believing the majority of Muslims are good, because we don’t want to face the immense threat their numbers represent. It’s scary to think Muslims in our daily lives are our enemies, so we reject the idea and so any thought of having to do something about it.
Islam’s first response to those who say it is not a ‘religion of peace’ is to violently attack those who say it.
We’re already self-censoring ourselves in language,and in our culture. How many more concessions will we make, to avoid confrontation, before we have nothing left to concede?

That is very interesting. No perfidy is beyond these people. But what is your source? If you have this information, it should be common knowledge.
Saddam was harboring Al Quaeda terrorists including Zaqawri and Abu Abbas. Saddam was training terrorists including hijacking techniques used on 9-11. Saddam was paying for terrorist attacks against US troops and allies. Saddam had defied the UN for 15 years despite as many ‘resolutions.’ Saddam had created and used WMD for many years, and our troops DID find supplies of WMD ingredients ready to be mixed and used.
Saddam was a prime target for our effort to stop terrorism. What we are fighting now would be 10x worse if Saddam were still in power.
Iraq is a relatively modern, developed and prosperous state, right in the middle of the most volatile region on earth - a region whose one product is essential to every country on Earth whether we like it or not. It is a great base from which to exert influence in that region.
And you think this battle is decimating the US economy? Hah. We have not even had a tax increase, and our stock market is at a record high level.
America has everything it needs to win... but it also has unfortunately a bunch of wimps who want us to lose.
So Mr. Russian Person, THAT is the truth of what is going on - despite what you may read from the lying media. NOW rethink your assumptions and try, try again.
The threat is extremely big. The media and other leftists do all they can to hide the truth from a public. Our elected officials play games to make us “feel safe”, while doing nothing to make us be safe. They refuse to profile. They have done nothing about the terror training compound in New York state. They continue to treat Saudi Arabia like good friends.
I’m tired of trying to raise the alarm. When the next attack comes, I hope I’ll be around to say “I told you so”.

Thats what sort of concerns me long run. If we are too afraid to even say bad things about muslims where a muslim might be able to hear.. At some point as the muslims gradually up and up their violence, their financial clout, their numbers, their threats.. at some point for many people it will probably be easier to take the final step, and join Islam.. rather then fight it. The leftists and democratic party were already trying to cave in and submit when the first shots were fired.
Is it too much to hope for the Islamo-Fascists fighting each other? Isn’t that what they are mostly doing in Iraq? And we want to stop them?

Not dicimating but doing the significant blood drain. Just imagine what if those huge money were spent on the creation the new hydrogen driven energy technology? Then the fossil fuel will be not needed anymore. And America will not depend on such regimes.
I do not care about Saddam. I just care that the lame war in Iraq is too costly. Accually maybe it is the purpose of terrorists to make war too costly and make the “treauser drain” from America.
I’m sure that if America payed say 1 bln dollars to some general of Saddam circle he would bring the Saddam head on platter. For just 1 bln of dollars. That I call the thoughtful expendure. But when you waste 1 trln dollar tfor just hang up Saddam and few his friends. i call it the waste.
If I were you, I’d be more concerned about my country’s backsliding away from Democracy towards totalitarianism and my President’s desire to re-start the cold war rather than standing with us and facing our one, true shared enemy - radical islam.==
Beleive me or not but I’m certainly sure that the farest goal of Putin to start the new cold war. His the primary purpose is to become rich. That is his truly goal.
If Russia once will become so strong she can allow herself the endevour then she will do it but.. Without no cold war. It is not in Russian style to do any cold wars. Russian style is to do the honest strike on the enemy. Rsusian in it like Americans but far from Europians.
(I honestly beleive that the national phyco of Russians is more relate to Americans then Europians. Just recall that only 2 nations fly space now. Europians could too but do not care much.)
You just mistake Russia for Soviet Union. But you should know that Soviet Union was run not by Russians but Soviets. Those were the bunch of lame old farts. Russia today is run by the young and vigor Russians like Putin who is 50 years old. Those guys will not play cold war like those soviet old farts. They will smack you at face if they will fill offended and “let burn it with the blue flames” as the ancient Russian proverb says. That is thier style.
