Report: Al-Qaida eyes Iraq ties for U.S. attack (can't have it both ways, connected or not?)
MSNBC ^ | 7/17/2007 | AP

WASHINGTON - The terrorist network Al-Qaida will likely leverage its contacts and capabilities in Iraq to mount an attack on U.S. soil, according to a new National Intelligence Estimate on threats to the American homeland.

The declassified key findings, to be released publicly on Tuesday, were obtained in advance by The Associated Press.

The report lays out a range of dangers — from al-Qaida to Lebanese Hezbollah to non-Muslim radical groups — that pose a “persistent and evolving threat” to the country over the next three years. As expected, however, the findings focus most of their attention on the gravest terror problem: Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaida network.

Subject to AQ’s desires and successes in terms of American political leadership. Will we be rewarded (not attacked) for electing Democrats, for example, and then for electing Muslim leaders, in years to come? Is this how Sharia law will be achieved in the “land of the free and home of the brave”?

For 3+ years now the media has been claiming that the Al-Qaeda in Iraq are separate from the other Al-Qaeda but in this report it admits ties and contacts.

"The report lays out a range of dangers — from al-Qaida to Lebanese Hezbollah to non-Muslim radical groups —"

Yeah, non-Muslim radical groups like Democrats and RINOS.

for 1350 years bodies like Al-Qaeda have been lying and providing misinformation in order to meet their ends.

which takes us to the next question:

how can you tell when a muzzie is lying?

when his lips are moving

You have to understand how the liberals and the MSM (same thing) will spin it: Al-Qaeda is only in Iraq because we are. They’d never be there if it weren’t for us. It’’s all our fault. Bush lied. Abu Graib, Haditha, yadda yadda yadda. And then, down the memory hole the report will go, along with thousands of pages of historical evidence of contacts between Saddam and al-Qaeda in the years before 2003 that the media pretends do not exist.

The big mistake of the 20th century was America and Britain simply not siezing the middle east oilfields.

When/If there is major attack in the U.S., the same groups that stifled the Administration on every type of Anti Terror measure will be the first to blame the Bush Administration for letting it happen.

The media is scrambling for their newest angle in undermining this administration while forgetting about what they wrote yesterday.

The media must be getting hammered on their inconsistencies because Jack Jacobs on MSNBC just said the NIE was wrong by putting too much linkage between Al-Qaeda in Iraq and Al-Qaeda

LOL, I heard that.

Good grief, they can’t get their storyline straight. Their script writing is inconsistent with so many lies to keep track of.

Well you know we did not have a problem until we invaded Iraq. No matter what happens it’s Bush fault anyway.

Do you hear these questions by the MSM in this intell briefing?

Wow, they are so juvenile, their only concern is blaming Iraq, as if we should not fight them anywhere because we might make them mad, lol.

Barf!

The laws of probability give a finite chance that the entire atmosphere will suddenly move to the moon. Do we lose sleep over that? Probably somebody should.

The truth of it is irrelevant. I’ve never understood why any of this matters. What matters is intent and capacity. I don’t care which organizations are cooperating. The only relevance that has is are groups without capacity being made capable by other groups. It is the job of our CIA to find these things out. If AQI doesn’t need help to achieve the capacity to attack the United States, then all this debate is worthless. They intend us harm and they are the enemy. WIPE THEM OUT!!!

I did not hear the briefing but it is probably from the same play book. If we would have invaded another country other than it would have been the same story. Pathetic bunch they are. Right now they have their panties in a tizzy because the dow reached 14k.

Fascinating Analysis of Leftist Goals, August 13, 2006

Reviewer: N. Sincerity - See all my reviews

A former 1960s radical, Horowitz is well-acquainted with the Leftist mindset. In this book, he strives to explain the modern alliance between left wing progressivists and radical Islamofascists. He argues that this alliance is based on a common desire to destroy Western capitalism. Leftist sympathy with Islamofascist ideas makes no sense from an intellectual point of view, given that countries ruled by radical Islamists are among the most racist, sexist, theocratic states in the world today. However, Leftists have recognized that they can benefit politically from destructive terrorist attacks on the Western world. A West under attack can be made to turn on its leaders in fear and desperation (as they did in Spain after the Madrid train bombings). Only once people reject current government structures can the Left execute its anti-capitalist revolution and build a new reality that mirrors the Leftist view of utopia.

The complete and utter idealogical hypocrisy of the Islamofascist-Leftist alliance is distressing, but as Horowitz reminds us,

Leftists radicals truly believe the ends justify the means.

An old fable:

Four farm brothers are out working in the field when they come across a hornets nest, right in the middle of their best field, the one they need to work in if they are going to make enough money for the family this year. They all agree it needs to be removed. The oldest says he'll whack it with a stick. He says it will take only one swipe, since he is skilled and will not miss. The second oldest, who resents the oldest for always bossing them around, disagrees, and says they should all hit it, to make sure that they get the nest. The oldest doesn't want to put all 4 of them in danger of stings--he needs the other three to work the other pastures.

The third boy is a little shy. He generally goes along with the oldest, but tries to make the other brothers like him, too. He tells them that they need to get along, to reach consensus, before they act. The older two refuse to agree, each thinking they know best. Forced to choose, the third brother reluctantly goes along with the plan of the oldest. Without an ally, brother no. 2 acquiesces. "Go ahead and do it", he tells the eldest.

The youngest brother is the baby of the family, and like many in that situation, is spoiled and sensitive. He agrees that the hornets are a problem, but he does not want to force them to be removed. He wants to wait and see if the hornets move their nest on their own, and suggests that if they work around the nest, the hornets will not sting them, or if they do, the stings will not be too bad. He is willing to weather a few stings here and there in order to avoid attacking the entire nest. He tells them not to attack the nest. "I have heard that you can live with hornets, if you just learn how to treat them", he proclaims.

The other brothers laugh at him, and the oldest shoves him down and says, "Get out of the way, Nancy!".

Well, what follows is interesting. The eldest takes a stick to the nest and whacks it dead center. It falls to the ground, and the hornets inside appear to be stunned. He starts to walk over to pick up the nest, so he can throw it in a garbage can, close the lid, and be done with it. His plan seems to be going well. Brother no. 3 walks over to the eldest and gives him a pat on the back. "Good work", he says. Brother no. 2 says nothing, turns his back and says "OK, it's done." Privately, he seethes. Another victory for his cocky brother.

Just then, the youngest rushes up to the nest, reaching it first. He picks it up, and gives it a good shaking, over his head, up and down, side to side, and then he twirls it in the air for good measure. Then he sets it down on the ground, and dashes away to observe the mayhem that he has caused.

The eldest advances towards the nest, but suddenly, a swarm emerges from inside, an enraged mass that has now been stirred up. The hornets attack the boys and the boys retreat into the farm house. The swarm covers a window, buzzes arond a door, but can't find a way in. Then, the swarm spots a family cow over by the barn, and heads that way, encircling her, and causing her to bellow in pain. The eldest rushes out of the house, grabs a hose and battles the swarm until the cow can reach the safety of the barn. He returns to the farmhouse, swollen from stings and bedraggled. None of the other boys leave the house to help him.

Brother no. 2 says, "I told you your plan sucked." Brother 3 is silent, a little disturbed by what he has seen. The baby says, "See what you caused!" The oldest, not much for words, sputters a response--"but, but, it was you....I didn't...how can you....ah, hell, I'll just fix it."

He puts on some thick leather clothes and heads to the door. Before he gets outside, no. 2 shouts at them to come look out the window and see what's happening now. Zeke, the family hound dog, is coming down the driveway, after a day of chasing chickens. The eldest is once again the one who takes charge, and he rushes outside, but he is too late. The swarm beats him to the dog, and it envelops Zeke. Zeke is stung so many times that he just wimpers and curls up in a ball. Brother no. 1 picks him up, brushes off the swarm and makes his way back into the house.

The brothers huddle around their beloved family pet, which is now writhing in pain, and they wonder if it will survive. They stare accusingly at their elder brother. No. 4 says "now you've killed our dog!" No. 2 says, "I told you you were wrong". No. 3 turns to No. 2 and asks him, "what do you think we should do?" No. 2 doesn't say how he will get rid of the hornets outside, but announces that they will all stay inside the farmhouse, and that way, no one will get hurt. No. 4 disagrees, and suggests that they get some honey from the pantry and toss it outside, to keep the hornets happy.

"But if we do that, the hornets will never leave", protests the eldest. "We need a plan that gets rid of them, gets them off our farm, away from our house, and allows us to go outside safely once again. I'd like to call in an expert, someone who can remove them, but I'll need some time to get him out here."

No. 2 and 4 laugh. "You had your chance. You wanted to attack the hornets when they weren't doing anything to us, and look what you did. "

"But, no. 2 you wanted to attack them too."

"I don't recall that....we were fine before you attacked them. Now, we'll try it my way--now, where is that honey? We can make them happy with honey, and they will leave us alone. They may someday even learn to like us, if we keep giving them honey."

"You can't teach hornets to like you! Hornets only know how to sting. No. 3...No. 3, surely you know this is crazy".

"I am just tired of seeing our animals get hurt, and having to stay in this house. I want to see if No. 2's plan works. Sorry, brother." Unknown to the brothers, though, the swarm has been flying around the farmhouse, testing, probing, looking for a way in. They eventually found one, a broken window in the cellar through which they can fit several bees at a time. They are making their way into the cellar, and a mass of them is growing near the cellar door, which leads into the kitchen. If anyone opens that door, they will be inside.

What they also don't know, yet, but will see in a few minutes, is that Mom and baby sister are returning from a trip to town, walking down the drive, blissfully unaware of the danger that they face when they reach home.

Crap, I remember this fable from when I was a kid, but for the life of me, I can't remember how it ends. Anyone recall?
