Gore's message loses bite (Served endangered species at daughter's wedding)

ONLY one week after Live Earth, Al Gore's green credentials slipped while hosting his daughter's wedding in Beverly Hills.
Gore and his guests at the weekend ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass - arguably one of the world's most threatened fish species.
Also known as Patagonian toothfish, the species is under pressure from illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities in the Southern Ocean, jeopardising the sustainability of remaining stocks.
The species is currently managed by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Living Marine Resources, the body which introduced a catch and trade documentation scheme as an attempt to tackle illegal poaching of this species.
Working with non-government organisations, the Humane Society International's focus is now on pursuit of illegal fishing operators who, in the rush to cash in on the highly valued species, plunder stocks with no regard for sustainability.
It has been estimated that more than 50 per cent of toothfish traded is illegally caught, and includes juveniles vital to the ongoing toothfish population.

I was in Beverly Hills Friday evening, and the Gores didn't invite me to the rehearsal dinner. If I had know about it ahead of time, I would have invited myself and as many Freepers as wanted to stand outside Freeping it.
You'll have to follow the link to read the rest of the story.

As big as Gore is getting, ANYTHING he is fond of eating should be put on the endangered species list.

Well, Al Gore and family are not perfect.
At least his son was driving a Prius when arrested recently.

Gore and his guests at the weekend ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass - arguably one of the world's most threatened fish species. As long as he doesn't promote the enjoying of it by the "little" people en mass, I guess it's okay. /s

Yes he eats endangered species, owning and running several homes, he leaves a carbon footprint of 5 American families, they drive SUV’s and fly all over the world. But he makes all of this up by planting trees to give back what he takes out! WHAT A FRIGGIN HYPOCRITE! It’s like John Edwards, he’s for the poor don’t ya know. This slip and fall lawyer millionaire with 400 dollar hair cuts is trying to convince you and me because he already convinced the lemmings that he was always for the poor, REMEMBER I FEEL YOUR PAIN?

Have you ever had FRESH: Yellowtail, Wahoo, Yellowfin tuna, or Mahi Mahi. Caught bled and cooked within a half hour of catching? Some Sashimi style or beer batter deep fried. Making you hungry?? Go sailing in the south Pacific and Sea of Cortez and you can get all those. I ate that diet for three years on our cruise, and can tell you that Halibut is good but doesn’t beat those! Oh yeah, I should add reef Grouper to that list, but it wasn’t quite as good. Fun to shoot though.

For a surprisingly good fish, try the much-hated sail-cat. A really large one provides only a couple of small fillets, but the meat has a good texture, is very white, and tastes better than sea trout. The secret is using a high pressure hose to blast the slime off it before filleting. My brother, who is a professional fishing guide, remembered how the delicious snook was once called the soap fish and tossed aside as trash after the big fight of landing it. He decided to see what sail cats were like. Ha ha. Really, really good.

Anybody remember that movie “The Freshman” with Matthew Broderick and Marlon Brando? Brando and his crew ran a scam called The Gourmet Club where people paid to eat endangered species, of course it was all a fake but what great fun watching that movie. Best scene was with Bert Parks singing “Margarita”.
Wonder if that restaurant called it Chilean Sea bass and it was old fashioned Catfish just made up and priced at $100 a person??????????????????????
To: Paleo Conservative
Oh heck......they don’t get it. Chilean sea bass are only endangered when it comes to The Little People, not for the Elite such as the Gores, donchaknow.
I mean, everyone knows that, right.........

I know who catered that event. It was actually wet cardboard shaped like a fish and made in China. The caviar was Chinese toothpaste mixed with sawdust.
