The blood-curbing declarations have been made: Moscow military experts are suggesting terrible scenario according to which the USA is going to attack Russia for providing itself with access to the Siberian natural resources .The cold war participants’ assumption is very clear, Manfred Quirring from the “Die Welt” German edition writes.
“The war between Russia and the USA is probable in the near 10-15 years”, Major- General Aleksandr Vladimirov does not exclude. And its aim, according to him, “is obvious even now. It is the removal of the powerful geopolitical rival capable of deleting the USA from the earth’s surface within 30 minute”.
Furthermore, according to the military man, the USA wishes to provide itself with access to the natural resources of Siberia and the Far East and threaten the rest of the world with “armed victory and technological power of its weapons”.
Vladimirov is the vice-president of the Russia’s board of military experts. He met with other Russian distinguished military experts and specialists on the global security for discussing when and why the USA is to unleash war against Russia and whether it is going to enlist it or not.
Ummm... I think these guys are worried about the wrong resource-hungry nation. ;)
I suspect many ‘military men’ in Russia are still having the cold-war mentality. After all, that’s how they were educated. Fast changes in the 1990s were not enough to change their attitudes toward the US.

You know, I just don't understand the blindness of people. I just don't get it.
Nobody will be able to make Siberian resources work economically. Not even the USSR with slave labor could do that. Plenty of oil/gas/timber, but ‘economically’ is the trick.
They are just projecting onto the USA, actions that they would take, if they had the power the US does. This says more about the ethics of the Russian military, than it does about the future, or future conflicts.

God I miss those guys! We hates them, they still hate us. They talked trash, we built up our military. Those were the good old days. Now we face even bigger threats and we have a military less than half the size of old.

In another 10-15 years, I’d say russia’s missiles will be mostly useless against the US. With china’s recent stunt in earth orbit, I’d say in 20 years, USA will own space as well. As long as we continue to stay on top of the WOT, our military will evolve into something truely incredible.
They are scared. They know they will soon be insignificant relative to america. This tough talk is how they protect their image.
I’m sure the rest of the world sees this as well. The next decade or two will be interesting for americans. Expect increasing anti-americanism to boil over and left wing extremist groups in america to go completely insane.

They're also laying claims to almost all of the seabed of the Arctic and they royally p'd off the Canadians last week by saying that since Canada has 'abandoned' much of it's northern reaches that Russia is now going to lay claim to them.

The Chinese screwed up and telegraphed their intentions way too soon. Our anti missile technology won’t take much to adapt to become anti-satellite either. What we are left with is a hole in our strategy that we have to cover, however, even with star wars and asat capabilities. We need fast and cheap launch to LEO of light to medium payloads. Time for the rocketmen to get busy. Burt Rutan has the start of an idea (along with several others btw). Heavy payloads (and geosynchronous orbits) aren’t as important and manned missions are even less important at this point.

You should have heard the stuff I used to talk about after a few drinks at the E club.
We need a method of knocking out satellites without blowing them up with a missile. Lasers would be better. Maybe a seek and destroy orbiting vehicle outfitted with a laser. WE cant have earth orbit space being scattered with debris. Too much debris would eventually knock out all satellites in orbit, including our own.

Yep. Idiots, so they take out the USA with nukes and smile in their underground cities and fly over our skies because they have oil for air power and we won’t. Then they can have a nice Chinese invasion after their nuclear arsenal has been spent.
Such scenerios also come out in the book of Revelations and other modern day prophets. Russia is the beast. She goes off into destruction. Once they have done such a heinous crime, those of us left will be build (as we did in every major US war) advanced weapons that will incinerate every last living being left in Russia. Then we will install America II indefinately on their piece of land.
Many people laughed at me in 2001 when I told them our attack on the Trade Towers was coordinated effort of the Chinese with Russian blessing. This is now becoming clear as facts. I was also laughed at as a nut-ball with people telling how much their military was in shambles, how the West had to try and help Russia with the Kursk submarine etc.
Here’s how it goes down for those listening: Iran begins it’s regional war with Israel and uses WMD, chemical missles from Syria, nuclear proxy from Iran. Global depression occurs as the price per barrel tops $150, $7.00 gallon of gas. Israel uses the Sampson Option and is considered the victor although I don’t like to think of it this way, millions of innocents dead.

A nuclear incident, what I saw as either a nuetron bomb or a dirty bomb in one of our port cities causes a heavy loss of life and further worsens our depression in the USA and globally. China shuts off it’s food aid to North Korea. North attacks the South, using nuclear weapons. We become involved but North Korea overruns the South. Death toll in the millions. Chinese casualties from this conflict give them the excuse to attack our Pacific fleet and at this time, they invade Taiwan and threaten the Japanese with annihalation. Japan goes nuclear. Russia begins skirmishes on the European front and shuts off energy to Europe. This war (mostly in the sea of Japan/Korea) accelerates with Russia, China and few other nations, I believe it’s 9 total, nuke the USA in an all out nuclear attack. We retaliate. Russia overruns Europe, still able to wage war with their own energy supply. The USA and Europe are temporarily defenseless.
The Chinese turn on Russia and invade. We rebuild faster then what these nations expect. We pulverize Russia and China with some kind of advanced weapon I do not fully understand. 1,000 years of peace after this conflict. According to Revelations 1/3 of mankind dead and 200 million combatants. I live in faith, not in fear.
Yes and that is why Russia wisely chose to never try to attack even at the height of their conventional superiority on the European front. What did Reagan do? Build a crapload of nukes, MX nukes, nuke submarines, nuke strategic bombers. What does Bush do? Ask Congress and this was two weeks ago for nukes and for Congress to tell him NO! What will Russia think this time when in 3-4 more years their conventional power has been fully restored and they themselves are now building more nukes? Methinks they will try it this time.
Great. Now Canada can spend some real money on defense instead of relying on the USA. From what I hear they are great fighters, just not much of them!
Yes that is true. Other energy weapons exist such as plasma to also do the same job. Lot’s of free solar energy for as much power as you need.
