I chide my family about this all the time (They still live in MA) The response is alwayy s the same. He really cares about his constituents, if you send him a letter, you will get a response in short order. He also has the capacity to pull a long set of strings...So in other words he is proficient at being a pandering politician.
They just vote for Kerry because Massachusetts just loves a communist America hater.

Nope MA is just over-run with Democrats, whose families have been Democrats since the unions started flourishing at the turn of the Century. The Democrats ran the wards for the newly arrived immigrants and 'guided' their voting along the way. That's one reason so many Catholics are Democrats; they just haven't given the way the party is run nowadays any real thought! The present day Democrats are just following the family legacy, and sucking up the tripe from the party every day: "We're for the little guy", "Unions are good; corporations are bad", "Republicans hate poor people", yadda, yadda.

I blew one young man's mind one day, after having talked to him for a bit about this and that, including politics. I must have mentioned at one point that I was a conservative Republican, and actually said, "Wow, you're a Republican, but you actually care about poor people!" I just chuckled and said, "Let that be a lesson to you, the Democrats don't always tell the truth."
