Merkel 'smarter' than Hitler

Warsaw - German Chancellor Angela Merkel is sticking to her country's tradition of trying to control Europe, but is "smarter" about it than Adolf Hitler, a controversial far-right Polish lawmaker said on Wednesday.

Maciej Giertych, a member of the European Parliament who has a reputation for anti-Semitism and homophobia, said in an interview that Merkel was simply the latest in a line of German leaders whose goal was to "dominate" the continent.

In an interview published in the daily Zycie Warszawy, Giertych said Merkel was upholding a tradition dating back to the Ottonian dynasty of Germanic monarchs of the 10th and 11th century, and exemplified more recently by the Nazis.

"Hitler also wanted to create a superpower. Angela Merkel is doing something similar, but she's much smarter about it," Giertych was quoted as saying.

Anti-Semitic and homophobic tracts

"She doesn't use the argument of force. She makes what appear to be concessions, but in truth her concern is to ensure that Germany is as strong as possible," he said.

"Today, it's clear that Europe is dominated by Germany."

Earlier this year, Giertych got into trouble for publishing anti-Semitic and homophobic tracts bearing the logo of the European Parliament.

He has also argued against Darwinism, claiming evolution is disproved by the existence of the Loch Ness monster.

Reacting to his latest remarks, former Polish foreign minister and present-day MEP Dariusz Rosati said: "Mr. Giertych is in serious need of medical care."

Giertych, 71, is the father of Roman Giertych, Poland's education minister and deputy premier.

While both are the masterminds of the far-right League of Polish Families - led by 36-year-old Roman - Giertych senior sits as a non-affiliated MEP.

His father Jedrzej Giertych, one of the founders of Poland's pre-World War II extreme right party, was known for anti-German, anti-Semitic and pro-Russian viewpoints.

Anti-Semites are on the political LEFT. As with Hitler and his Mohammadan brothers.

Maciej Giertych, a member of the European Parliament who has a reputation for anti-Semitism and homophobia...

Polish leftists (former corrupt Kwasniewsi's governement, all commie turncoats who robbed the country for decades and now enjoy high governrment pensions (currently out of power and angry) demonize this guy, he is against special rights for homos, against rewriting history by Socialist-Nazi EU, (EU wants to write their version of history to be taught in schools in all EU countries).

Giertych is against EU attempts to wipe out former pacts protecting Polands sovereignity from Germany's attempts to resettle and subdue western part of Poland with EU blessing.

Giertych is a patriot and true conservative.

Not to you, Grzegorz 246, but to the author: enough already.

This Poland/Germany feuding and the much longer Serbia/Kosovo-Albania (boy, that's bound to rile a few) one on FR are so (see too) much.

Interestingly, for the large (most) part, German freepers have the sense to not rise to the bait, and there are either no or very few Albanian freepers.

Merkel can’t even dominate Germany, much less the rest of Europe.

To me, Maciej Giertych and his son Roman are great defenders of our Catholic Western culture against the ideology of godless world, against antichristian campaign, against endorsing perversion and moral insanity into the standards of modern societies, against war on natural families.

This sounds like a nice target for Larry Flynt!

Maciej Giertych is the father of LPR party leader Roman Giertych who serves as a deputy prime minister and education minister in the conservative PiS party-led government of Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Last year, Polish media identified the MEP's young female assistant in pictures of what appeared to be a neo-Nazi drinking party.

A junior coalition partner for the PiS, the marginally popular LPR which holds only 29 seats in Poland's 460-seat parliament, recently announced it would join forces with populist farmers' party coalition partner Samoobrona to create the Liga and Samoobrona (LiS) party.

The move is seen by analysts as a desperate attempt to bolster flagging popularity which could see both parties fail to enter parliament in a possible future ballot.

IOW, she's a very good leader for Germany on the international relations front. We could use someone like that.

As to meritum, the thrust toward domination over Europe shown by Merkel’s Germany at the EU summit was paralyzing and shocked us Poles (I don’t mean volksdeutsches living in Poland!).

You, Germans, have the psychopathic need for domination written in your D.N.A.! You can’t live without power over other nations, without a whip in your hand and shouting “Raus! Raus!” and that is exactly what Merkel proved during the summit DOING HER BEST TO DIMINISH AND BRING POLAND DOWN!

“Let’s isolate/exclude Poland”, she said! And we will remember that sentence forever[...], VERSTANDEN?!

What I absolutely do not understand is why you Poles stick to a organisation that is indeed dominated by such (as you say) "evil" countries like Germany and France. Since Germany is -compared to Poland- a country with enormous economical, cultural and intellectual virility and twice the inhabitants, it is not astonishing that its importance is much bigger in Europe and the world. This conclusion is not a question of snootiness or of a sick German "master and servant"-pride. It simply reflects a situation that remembers closely to the US-Mexican neighbourhood. Somehow it is just logical that Germany is among the leading nations in Europe. It is not that difficult to find out why some other countries are not.

The interesting thing to a German like me is, that your two funny leaders stick to the "evil" EU with all means. Although they dismiss their European partners in the west completely, although they dislike the ideas and values of western Europe and last but not least they obviously still have wet dreams of reparations for WWII, your twins seem to do anything to stay inside the abhorred EU that is de facto dominated by us "horrible and evil" Germans.

Why?

Because Poland needs Germany to develop. We are your number one market, we are your most important neighbour and we have the biggest importance inside the EU. It is somehow sad but true: You guys are completely dependent from Germany. Although Poland is getting more and more important to us Germans we still can do perfectly without you. Maybe 3% of your trade is going to Poland. Peanuts.

Therefore the Kaczynski brothers had no other choice (except of turning to Russia maybe - Buhuhaha). They tried to block the nessecary decisions on the last EU-summit but they found out that Merkel simply would have left them behind. The quintessence of this summit was: A working EU is obviously more important to us Germans than Poland and its fate. This is the reason why the funny twins gave in parts of their sovereignty. They were forced to do this after they overpushed their luck like in a lost poker game.

It is the merit of the Kaczynskis, Mr. Giertych and Mr. Lepper that (!)their(!) Mater Polonia reminds us western Europeans somehow to a worn out whore who hates her johns but shares her bed with them as long as they wave with a 50 Euro bill. Those sticky politicians hate us but they need us. People like you are probably not aware that the recent political moves of Poland left not a good impression among its neighbours. No matter what your funny and blinded press is telling you: The winner of the last summit were not the Kaczynskis. It was Mrs Merkel, Europe and Poland.

I am quite aware that there is another Mater Polonia that is far away from such cheap political prostitution just like Angela Merkel is far away from Adolf Hitler. It is the Mater Polonia that is borne of idealism and freedom. A Mater Polonia that is carried by the Polish people and not by a few political garden gnomes. Demagogues like the Kaczynskis come and go. They are a nuisance but not really important. The decisive matter are some political ideas that will succeed in the long term. Wait and see. :)
