Once again, the national government has no business taking any kind of position on this issue, it’s an issue best left for states.

Do you support the teaching of responsible, age-appropriate, factually accurate health and sexuality education, including information about both abstinence and contraception, in public schools?”

This is one of those bogus questions so I’d have to answer
YES.
- Where ‘age-appropriate’ means you teach them to abstain at every age up to grade 12, and where you *dont* expose them to deviant ‘lifestyles’ and insist on calling it normal
- Where ‘responsible’ means you tell them to listen to parents and give parents the right to direct what messages they will get
- where ‘abstinence’ is taught as the best form of contraception (works every time its tried)
- where ‘factually accurate’ means telling them that abortion kills an unborn human being and that it is a terrible and dreadful thing to do that should be avoided in all cases

Ya think Planned Parenthood would like that?

No they weren’t. Not ever. Quit trying to peddle BS.

” ... in 2005 when Romney was criticized by Massachusetts pro-choice groups when he began to push an abstinence-heavy focus on sex education.”

Where has Obama praised, pushed or even agreed with abstinence-heavy focus on sex ed????

“Mitt Romney created ABSTINENCE sex ed in Massachusetts.

He fought to promote abstinence education in public school classrooms with a program offered by faith-based Boston group Healthy Futures to middle school students. Gov. Romney’s administration was the first in Massachusetts to use federal abstinence education funds for classroom programs.

That is age appropriate sex education just not the kind liberals like.”

Thanks for injecting facts into an otherwise fact-free thread!!

“I’m no Romney fan, but I’m getting tired of all the Republican bashing around here.”

It’s time freepers took a page from Romney:
THE FOLKS TO CRITICIZE ARE THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS,
not other conservatives and Republicans.

Former Gov. Mitt Romney attacked Sen. Barack Obama yesterday for purportedly wanting sex education in kindergarten.

It turns out, Romney himself once indicated support for the same sort of sex-ed approach -- "age-appropriate" -- that Obama backs.

Unfortunately, this isn't a great surprise.

If the best we can do is a guy who became a conservative in the last couple years, the GOP is in a whole lotta trouble.

Time was, you could go through kindergarten and twelve years MORE schooling, and never hear any teacher mention sex at all.
