What? Dropped??

No way man - he has a plan. He’s doing mind games on the rest of the peloton. Very, very sneaky, that Vino.

:-)

Really? I had no idea the evidence was so overwhelming that everybody was cheating.

Hadn’t heard of the scrotal patch. Sounds like a lot of fun. Of course, that makes the whole legal appeal of the second test seem kind of pointless so I suppose Floyd was just appealing the fact that his scrotal patch was on the approved list?

The only seemingly workable standard would be for all athletes to provide a list of all supplements, vitamins or anything else they put into their bodies. Let the authorities test thema and determine what the standard is. Its not like there is some bright clear line with the exception of specific substances which ARE on the black list. If a guy eats poppy seeds, just disclose it. Nobody should be able to do back in time and declare you guilty for something which as not illegal in the first place.

I’m slightly more than a little suspicious of the ‘he-man’ idea unless we classify every previous rider going back in time to the beginning. Six hours a day on a bike still earns you a buttload of strength, endurance and energy.

Certainly - even if I patched my hole body with testosterone patches and injected epo from a fire brigades hose - I’d never even finish one of these etapes.

These guys are - as you said - trained athlets with extreme will power.

So I don’t understand the witch hunt - they are not the bad guys but still sports heros. Never the less in their best interest they need a closer screening.

I know from a friend of mine who was in the olympia cadre for the german swimming team that he’d observe many strange training success that he also observed on cyclists. The ‘hanging tongue’ e.g. is a HGH overdose symptom.

Most of these guys bring pieces of paper from their doctors that make them officialy under treatment against asthma and inflamations so they can inhale some budesonid and take some cortisone. BTW Lance - as a real cancer case - certainly had the biggest heap of paperworks and Testosterone is a common drug for the postreatment of his cancer. So in the end he took drugs that seriously increased his ability to win - but certainly he took that particular stuff for reasons noone can shake a stick against.
