On Thursday afternoon, Rep. Christopher Shays (R-Conn.) got into a loud, angry dispute with a U.S. Capitol Police officer at the security checkpoint inside the entrance of the West Side of the Capitol. On Friday, Shays, a veteran lawmaker, offered a public apology for the incident, and said that he wants to meet with the officer personally to reiterate how sorry he is.
Shays reportedly grabbed the officer during the dispute over whether the officer should allow a group of tourists to enter the building, said several sources. Tourists are not allowed to use the West Front entrance, but Shays was trying to bring the group through that entrance anyway. The officer refused to allow them to come inside, and Shays then "yelled and screamed" at the officer, including using profanity, the sources said. It is unclear whether Shays actually touched the officer.

Now we will se the difference between how Shays will be treated and Cynthia Moonbat..
Repub (RINO) or not McKinney treatment for him!
Typical Congresscritter arrogance. Such a bunch of primadonnas.
Will Shays become the “Paris Hilton” of congress?
Yeah, you sure know how to show that "respect".
You got that right -
What a creep.
Is this a RINO?
“Do you know who I am?”
Watch out for Shays... he might scratch your eyes out.
Well Shays is essentially a Democrat already, so this is typical behavior......
But watch how he will probably be treated much more harshly by the MSM than was Cynthia Moonbat since he does have that “R” after his name.
They will call for his resignation and he will promptly go into Rehab. That is standard protocol isn’t it?
He’s damn lucky the officer didn’t slam his ass to the ground and cuff him. I would have, nobody gets to touch me in uniform, not even my wife or children .
Ages ago, I saw one critter throw a fit at the airline counter because there weren’t any first class seats left for him to fly home on.
Rather amazing to watch the attitude that it was due to him, regardless if someone else got bumped.
Why isn’t Christopher Shays (R-Conn.) not in a loud, angry dispute about the delay in installing the border fence with Mexico?
“Typical Congresscritter arrogance. Such a bunch of primadonnas.”
I would like to remind all the congressionals that it’s the taxpayers who pay for those buildings and it’s the taxpayers who fund their salaries. Tourists, for crying out loud, ought at least to be able to get into the building.
This is the summer vacation and lots of moms and dads are busy bringing their children to the nation’s capitol and Shays’ tirade is a despicable behavior for the children to see from a congressional.
He ought to be ashamed. And he ought, also, to apologize to the American people because of his arrogant attitude that he actually believes that the Capitol is his building.
Kinda obvious isn’t it?
The Sen. Shay went to the officer personally to reiterate how sorry he was and that he was out of line.
He didn’t run to the media yelling hate crime.
Maybe so but he was the only Republican to get re-elected in Connecticut.
He was expected to lose.
I do have some respect for Shays's after he stood up to the Dem's, here is a blast from the past.
HARTFORD, Conn. - Republican Rep. Christopher Shays defended the House speaker's handling of a congressional page scandal, saying no one died like at Chappaquiddick in 1969 when Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy was involved.
"I know the speaker didn't go over a bridge and leave a young person in the water, and then have a press conference the next day," the embattled Connecticut congressman told The Hartford Courant in remarks published Wednesday.
"Dennis Hastert didn't kill anybody," he added.
You mean he decided how to handle this without first calling a Townhall Meeting to get constituent input?
