WalterSkinner, my first impression of this video was that I liked it. It is feel good and kind of a catchy tune. But after reading all the comments, I would have to say that I still like it. I guess I am weird or something. I’ll take “cheesey” over nitpicking comments from the nattering nabobs of negativisms any day.

The doers build, the critics tear down. Keep up the good work!

..I too am not an advocate of existential nonsense.

And again, I believe that that little 30 second spot spoke to what is good about the country, what DH stands for, that all that was good about Reagan's America can happen again if DH is in the White House--that was my intent, in an amateur way...

You got it. If you think what I'm saying could be valuable, I'm certainly willing to play editor...my husband says I like doing that best ;-) (Well, it's MUCH easier than coming up with the concept in the first place - ha ha ha)

I guess, after reading through your last post once again, I mean feel good about the Country should either be a quick message to start, or a reason why Duncan does what he does, for a nice finishing statement. The later leaves you with that feeling.

To me, start with a question or two--things we are really upset about, and then show how Duncan has taken on these issues--never waivering--man of action type quick, easy to understand concepts, and finish with the "feel proud to be an American" ending.

..like I pointed out earlier, according to the profile on YouTube, it is from a 25 year old in Afghanistan--maybe one of the troops or a civilian worker.

It is kind of a throwback to old-time political jingles--"I Like Ike", etc...

I like the general feel, but because I think Republicans want concepts that are more real and factual nowadays--they've heard too much general stuff, and associate it with typical blowhards of the Senate--promising the world, and it's why we all got jazzed about Newt's Contract with America, and why Ross Perot had so many followers. Newt identified problems and laid out quick, direct solutions. Perot identified problems in a way we all could relate to, but didn't have much in the way of solving them. He had people saying, "Yah....that's right," but there was no follow through--just like his campaign. Newt followed through, and we all know how successful that was, until the Republicans were called upon to actually lead--a concept so foreign to them (or so it seemed) that all the goodness crumbled before our eyes, because we were never lead through the path, beting told about all the success stories and we never saw the results. Take Iraq for example. Why doesn't the American public clearly see the need for America to take a stand there? No explanations, just blind faith. Sure, those that take the time to try and understand the big picture are on board, but most Americans are quite self-absorbed and are left with their thoughts of "so what does this mean to ME." Sadly, that is our generational dark side. Those people need to be lead by the hand into any goal and the results must be glamorized for them to comprehend the good/need.

Wooo, I think the coffee's kickin' in a bit too much ;-) ....sorry.

..I understand what you are saying--it is well thought out and based on experience.

I may know little about the technical aspects of video creation, but I know a lot about communication to a large audience--like from a pulpit. Many of the basics are the same. You have to speak to people where they live, then point them to the great truths which give meaning and definition to life. The preacher points to the Bible. In this case I point to the great truths upon which this Republic is founded and how this candidate would carry the torch for these great truths.

If you and your husband aren't doing so, I really hope you will use your gift of video creation for the cause.

Have a great weekend, NordP

Yours is great. It is a promo.

That with links to sites, etc. with his actions is fine. Yours sets a moment.

The other video....well, I had old bad game shows immediately come to mind.

But, I’ve not tried to create video yet, so I don’t know what is involved.

Why would these videos be an indication of anything about Duncan Hunter?

We, the cheerleaders, made them. None of us our officials with the campaign.

Well, I’ll give an A for effort.

Maybe an A+ since I don’t have that skill (yet).

Post 10:

>>>Duncan Hunter, Secretary of Defense in a Fred Thompson administration.

Post 15:

>>>The fact remains, however, that Duncan Hunter — while being a great conservative — remains a flop as a campaigner.

Ummm. Until Fred declares, he doesn’t have a campaign.

“Answer: there was no room on the stage for both her and the token. The amateurish attempt at pandering was, well amateurish!

Post newsworthy material not campaign ephemera on FR please!”

Run, weedley, run...isn’t there already another fire you’re team needs putting out?
