I do consider myself a Bushbot. I like Bush.

I am not trying to insult people with borderbot though I recognize your point.

There are people who view the border as the most important issue. I don’t.

I think failing to appreciate it as more important than WOT and abortion leads to hyperbolic claims like traitor.

If border emphatic people (sound better) will focus on the practical future and stop trying to ride on Bush hatred that they see modelled in the media and on the Left, then I will be happy and cooperative.

I will be a pain in the rear when I see articles like this posted. Bush is not evil.

You are absolutely right. For some strange reason, GW Bush has this strange love affair with the filthy, corrupt sh$thole known as Mexico.

I used to think that, too. I was confused about why he 'loved' Mexicans more than Americans.

I came to the realization that he doesn't love Mexicans more than Americans. He loves 'banks' more than Americans. Mexicans are merely the fuel for the fire.

If you read up a little bit on the Partnership for Prosperity and New Alliance Task Force, you'll see that the prime beneficiary is banks.

What a giant pants load! A few points for this moron;

1) Most illegals were here before GWB took office. 8.4 million in 2000.

2) GWB’s position was always comprehensive reform. He was elected President with that position. Bitching about his beliefs now is more than a little lame. Seems like this guy would prefer a flip-flopper to a man that tells the truth.

3) After 9/11, GWB had more important things to do than chase down Mexicans.

4) GWB has stepped up enforcement, the number of BP, and the amount of barriers. Border crossings were down last year. That is more than anyone since Eisenhower (with Operation Wetback) has done.

5) In 2004, 1.4 million law enforcement officers effected 14 million arrests. You do the math on how many it would take to get 12-20 million illegals off the street even if the cities and states would cooperate.

6) If illegals commit a violent crime, they are still subject to arrest and conviction. What has illegal got to do with it? We’ve had a war on drugs for forty years....is it GWB’s fault everytime someone OD’s?

7) Violent crime is down, employment is up, the economy is booming. We have not had a terror attack since 9/11. Where is the damage to this country other than in this guy’s own mind.

For all the border rhetoric I have seen the last two years, NOTHING has been accomplished but putting Dems back in power. We won’t even be able to identify illegals till at least 2009 now. That’s really good for security, isn’t it?

This guy hurts conservatives with reckless crap like this.

If we are putting blame where blame is due, it’s all of our fault. We have sat by and let it get to this point just as much as our legislators. I know people are going to line up saying they have been concerned about it for a long time, but be honest with yourselves, because you know that the vast majority of us haven’t made this a high priority and taken real action on it until recently.

I think Border bots need to be exposed to the same absurd ironies of their claims against Bush.

Borderbots and tens of millions like us sure as hell got that shamnesty bill shot down-didn't we?

I think you did and I do think that is significant.

Nonetheless, it is very difficult to get anything done in Washington DC. It is much easier to stop almost everything.

The increased power to enforce the border would be and will be a difficult thing to accomplish.

For this reason, I urge a constructive approach to border issues focused on the future rather than bashing Bush.

"Bush has been the illegal immigrants best friend for 6 years"

Hard to decide whether that's worse than being the friend of the Red Chinese and having a "brother" OKing selling them Bernie's(Huge Klintoon contributor) guidance for missiles(LORAL) so they can hit us....no end to the choices amongst stupid and evil......

The future? That's what I'm pulling my hair out worrying about. The integration of three countries without borders will be the end of us.

border emphatic people

LOL yes, it is more descriptive.

I think it important that we all recognise that most of us hold a view we really believe, and while we may disagree, we can see the other POV. Thank you for a civil response. I disagree with you (I think the southern border is tied to the WOT and for that reason am perplexed by Bush's stance--I have always thought him a pretty straight shooting guy, and have followed his career since the late 70s. I think his family is a good family. I do admit I am rethinking him perception of him, and would feel better if I had a real clue as to what he was doing. I would like to understand his actions even if I disagree profoundly with them. When he seems (to me) to make no sense in this issue, it raises concern for me on other issues. However, I do not hate him.

A few small-towns suffer changing demographics? Just collateral damage - can't be helped.

One small problem with that... It isn't/hasn't been just a few small towns. It's been much larger than that, and how much "collateral damage" like this will it take to change the country, permanenetly?

he just made a poor judgment call (with, I suspect, CIA advice) that a few murders in small-town America are better than having investment bankers jumping out of windows on Wall Street and a bloodbath in Mexico City.

If it's just a bad judgement call, why compound it the way that he has?

There is an election in 2008 and if constructive arguments can be made then I would expect a more strict border enforcement person would win.

We have 20 million illegals already. In the last 6 years, they have penetrated all the way from the west to Boston. Another 10-20 million and our country is finished!

What could POSSIBLY be more important than this??

It’s the ‘big picture’ — the NAU, and nothing must get in the way of that.

Border bots should have been able to win more congressional seats in 2004 and 2006. To my knowledge they did not.

A little hard to do when the RINO establishment is working as fast and hard as it can to make sure either a Democrat or a very liberal "Republican" win. And in 2004 the general public was not yet aware of the flood coming their way.
