Action Alert: Cindy Sheehan in NYC on Sunday, 7/29/07 - GOE & Freepers Needed (DETAILS)
email | July 26, 2007 | Dan Maloney, NY Coordinator, GOE

Posted on 07/26/2007 10:00:58 AM PDT by tgslTakoma

Who: Cindy Sheehan
What: Gathering of faint Hearts Rally/Concert
Where: Central Park, East Meadow, 5th Ave & East 97th Street, Opposite Mt. Sinai Medical Center
When: Sunday, July 29th, Noon to 6pm

Plan: Gather at 5th Ave & East 97th Street at Noon.

We will proceed into the park and stake out a prominent location. We will voice our Support for our Troops and disdain for Ms. Sheehan as loudly and vocally as possible. We will use our first amendment right to free speech to interrupt her traitorous bile. Remember, Casey was a Hero, Cindy is a Zero!

Bring flags, signs, banners, cow bells, duck callers anything you might need for a day in the park with moonbats. If you arrive late just enter the park through that entrance and look for the cluster of American flags (we can be certain the traitors won't have them).

Background:

Cindy Sheehan, estranged mother of the hero, Casey Sheehan, who died in Iraq trying to help his wounded comrades, has made a career out of lending aid and comfort to our enemies. She has been a willing pawn of the radical left wing. Her celebrated retirement earlier this year ended this month when she decided to mount a "Walk for Humanity" (In which she hasn't walked a mile) from Crawford, TX, to New York City.

The Gathering of Eagles has met her every step of the way. We mounted counter protests at Ft. Benning, Georgia, Charlotte, North Carolina, Charlotteville, Virginia, Arlington, Virginia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She retreated from many of those engagements.

We want her to know that we in New York support our troops and have nothing but scorn and disdain for anyone espousing treason who stands to encourage the enemy to prolong and intensify their actions against our brave men and women. We want her to know that the Gathering of Eagles and all our allies and friends will do everything in our power to shout truth to her seditious lies. We want her to know, when she leaves for her Mideast "Traitor's Tour" next week, that Americans despise what she is doing!

We want our troops in the field to know that we have their backs at home; whenever and wherever we must be. They are sacrificing years of their lives for us, we can damn well sacrifice a day for them!

Please forward this email to every person, group and organization you know!

Eagles Up!

Dan Maloney - New York Coordinator, Gathering of Eagles

Dan sent me an email this morning, asking me to post this announcement to FR.

Please, NY Freepers... this event is on Sunday. Freepers and GOEers at the many other locations where Sheehan has protested have had to take the day off work, and others have complained that "it's always on a work day."

Well, she's coming to New York, and most people won't have to work on Sunday.

Please join the NY Gathering of Eagles this Sunday.

Wrong approach.

This woman is an attention hog.

You’re giving her what she wants. By showing up to protest, you make her appearance a media event.

She is irrelevant. Ignore her.

Then I shall make an effort to be Upstate this Sunday. As far as I know, the racetrack at Saratoga Springs re-opened this week, so that’ll be a nice trip. Maybe a quick jaunt up to the Finger Lakes and the wine country (question for Upstate NY FReepers; did I miss the Grape Festival? That’s fun).

Anything to avoid the noxious hoard of aging hippies and clueless Gen X slackers...

I still don’t understand how this unemployable, boring, nasty shill for the socialists can move around the country like she’s got some kind of free pass. How the heck does she bop around the country like that. Does she work? At what? Where? What does she make or do?

Ah, but you are the mistaken one.

Whether or not we counter protest Sheehan, the media will cover her protests.

When we do counter her, at least a few of the media will report a line or two about the folks who disagree with Sheehan and entourage.

And, when we counter the Sheehan and the other leftists, we have at least a fighting chance to "pick off" the wishy-washy supporters who are unaware of the radical roots of the "peace" movement.

Over the past couple of years, the leftists' (ANSWER, UFPJ, Code Pink, WCW, etc.) "massive marches" have dwindled from 100,000 participants to only a few thousand, despite huge publicity campaigns. We counter their protests, telling the participants to do some investigating of their own about the radicals behind the "peace" movement.

Not everybody who marches in these events is a card-carrying commie; many do it because being "for peace" sounds cool, and nice, and kind. When they learn that the peace movements biggest players are commies, well, that turns alot of them off and they quit attending.

If we sit around with our heads in the sand (or elsewhere), saying, "If we just ignore them, they will go away," we will pay dearly in increased military deaths, surrender to jihadis, and more terrorism here in the US.

Ignoring the radicals during the Vietnam war didn't work.

Why do you think it will work any better this go 'round?

I don't counter these people to "feel better." I do it because I do not want today's soldiers and vets to be spat and shat upon as their older brothers were in Vietnam. I do it because I don't want to see a repeat of those "good old days." I do it because I don't want to see the pain on the faces of the two Gold Star wives who were forced (by the inaction of the civilian "conservative" population in this area on Monday) to defend their husbands' honor.

And doing nothing is guaranteed to be ineffective.

But you go ahead and do what you want.

The media keeps proping her up, so being there cuts her down. People see that there is another side out there.

Second, it IS the path to making her irrevant. The moonbats only come if it's fun. Being held accountable by counter protesters isn't fun for them.

That's what happened in DC with the ANSWER and UFPJ marches. They had fewer and fewer people the next march after being protested. Some people were even swayed from marching with the anti-US front groups because we got the word out as to who ANSWER and UFPJ really represent.

That's a very good flag to carry, Long Island Pete. We fly our flag every Friday at Walter Reed. It was given to us by Gold Star dad, Greg Garvey, in 2004, when Sheehan reared her ugly head in Crawford, TX.

Thanks for standing up for our troops and their mission.

I know the first instinct is to just let it go. She truly isn’t worth it. But she is WRONG. She says that Bush lied. She thinks she is helping our troops by bringing them home.

Sir, our troops want to be there. My husband WANTED to go. He wrote me while he was waiting in Kuwait that he had a mission there. And one day Iraqi children and our children would live in a better world. He had been to the Middle East before in 1991.

You see, typically you join the military because you feel this call to be of service to your country. Some may be in for 4 years and decide that they don’t like the hours (NON-STOP, whenever they need you), the travel (anyplace they want to send you after you get those shots), and all that pay (NOT MUCH AT ALL) and they get out. Hopefully, they’ve learned a little about life and had some values instilled in them that will get them far in life. Then there are the one’s that stay in. They stay because they BELIEVE that defending our country, and those that cannot defend themselves, is the most important thing you can do in this world. My husband was in for 13.5 years and was just getting ready to re-enlist for the fourth time. They would have had to kick him out after 20 years to get him from showing up at the tank ramp every day.

So please, maybe you could go and let people know that our service people want to be there. They want to finish the job. Please go for me, Don’s widow, because I can’t make it there because I have no one to watch my three kids. Please go for my three kids, Mariah, Jack, and Will. Will was born three weeks after Don’s funeral. Someone needs to let Cindy Sheehan and the press that follows her silly actions know that we are here too. I promise the media will be there anyway. And when I was in DC one of her followers asked me “Why aren’t there more of you?”

Yes, why aren’t there more of us?????

I'm sorry that you had to come here (to DC) and face off with Sheehan, to defend your husband and all of our troops. We should be doing that, and in much greater numbers than we have.

And I am so sorry your husband was killed. In my eyes, Mariah, Jack and Will's daddy is a hero.

“I guess your tagline is your official surrender notice?”

What planet do you live on? Surrender?

Must have been too clever for you by half.

As for “great attitude”, I guess you expect me to stay here, while the morons tie up traffic, make life generally unpleasant and generate far mroe publicity than they are worth , for....?

I have better things to do than go into Manhattan to make a show of opposition to these jerks, because it only encourages them; they want a reaction, they live for it, they thrive on the attention they get. Their entire schtick revolves around their own selfish, petty and mentally constipated worldview, which is no worldview at all.

THOSE are the folks who wish to surrender, not me. I just won’t dignify anything they do or say with a comment, and I certianly won’t make an apearance just to mollfy you.

P.S. Before you jump to yet another faulty conclusion:

I served 12 years in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve. Three generations of Wombats before me were US Marines. I don’t need to show up and shout insults at a bunch of idiots to show my support for my troops.

I want our guys and gals home, not because I don’t support what they do, but because they were sent in by a bunch of idiots who have forgotten every axiom of warfare. Personally, i would have opted to radioactively poisoning the netire Muslim world for the next 10,000 years, rather than the half-assed, Vietnam-style semi-war that’s being sorta-kinda-fought, but then again, I’m a no-bulls*it kinda guy who doesn’t have to worry about being filleted on the nightly news.

My own tour of duty in Iraq (in Gulf War I) was spent fishing WWI-vintage naval mines out of the Persian Gulf and disarming or destroying them. When I finsihed doing that, I spent my time searching the deserts for Iraq looking for unexpended aerial ordinance to do the same to.

That, btw, was AFTER I had spent the previous five months loading God-knows-how-many-tons of explosive ordinance on F/A-18’s, A-6’s, A-7’s, and the occasional Marine AV-8B.

See, I already did my 19 months in the combat zone, thank you.

I think I’ve earned the right to ignore Mrs. Sheehan and her crowd of self-appointed moral censors, if I should choose to.

So while you have your fun hurling insults and beer cans at the surrender monkeys, I’ll be enjoying myself to the fullest extent, a RIGHT I GO*DAMMNED EARNED, despite what you have to say about it.

You want Cindy Sheehan to go away? Stop giving her attention.

She won't go away. Even if we close our eyes, hold our breath and cover our ears. The media will always be there to cover them. And the constant drumbeat of negativism on the nightly news will assist and encourage the radical leftists to continue what they are doing.

And Sheehan and the rest of the leftists will win, because there will be people who say, "I did my time," or "I got mine," or "It doesn't affect me," or any number of excuses they can think of. And there will be people who will p*** on what others are doing to try and stop the radical leftists from destroying what's left of our great country.

Have fun in upstate NY.

Read a bit further down, Jack-Ass; I’m a veteran and don’t need to be present when the mutated DNA of the Woodstock generation and their progenitors congreate in Central park to lower the average IQ of the NYC for a day.

As for deb29palms, my sincere regrets on the loss of your husband.

For Buford and Takoma; going to yell at these folks will not:

a) Get them to change their minds,
b) end the war in Iraq,
c) bring one American home victorious.

Those things will only be accomplished when someone in the White House and Pentagon remembers that wars are won by making the other side suffer horrendously, until they beg for mercy.

Right now, it’s OUR side that’s suffering horrendously, and it’s not because Cindy Sheehan is a Quisling; it’s because the people who are in charge of this entire fiasco are a bunch of pus*ies. And whatt’s more, dangerously-deluded pus*ies.

Otherwise all of this other stuff is purely academic, and pure posturing. Even if it makes you feel better.
