Three female mountain gorillas and a male silverback gorilla were found shot dead this week inside a national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a conservation group said Thursday.

The bodies were discovered inside Virunga National Park but it was unclear who killed them and why, the International Gorilla Conservation Program said in a statement.

"Just over 700 mountain gorillas survive in the wild today, and none exist in captivity," the group said. "For such a small population, the unnecessary and indiscriminate killing of four mountain gorillas is a huge loss."

How many abortions were performed 'this week'?

Don't see that in any news reports.

On the whole, Africa would be a lot better off if all the humans were replaced by gorillas.

Wow. So after every piece of news is presented to you you ask the same question? Abortion is wrong. So is the slaughter of innocent creatures.

Sad that you are wholly a one-issue person.....I have not lived the longest amount of time, but I do know that the world has more than one issue.

Hard to see why anyone would kill them. But then this is Africa where they kill humans for no reason.

"The bodies were discovered"

Intersting choice of words there. I bet if this were deer on the side of the road, the choice would have been "carcasses".

The killings follow three others this year. Two silverback male gorillas were shot dead in the same area of the park. The skin of one of the dead gorillas was recovered from a latrine in a nearby camp of rebels fighting the government, the IGCP said.

They went through the effort to skin it, then threw the skin in a latrine.

Is that ever the truth. Isn’t the latest figure that 50+% of Africans in certain areas are infected with aids?

“..inside a national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo..”

It’s the “democratic” part that should always be distrusted. Oh man, you better put your flak jacket on because of your statement regarding Africa.

Don’t hijack the thread.

If you want to talk about abortion go start a thread about abortion.

I’d like to say I care, but I don’t. They’re just animals, after all.

How many abortions were performed ‘this week’?
__________

The sportswriters also failed to note how many abortions were performed this week when I was looking over last night’s baseball scores. And not one mention of abortion in the entire article relating to Cal Ripken’s impending inauguration into the HoF. Nothing in the stock reports, either. Or the movie listings. The comics. The crossword puzzle and the sudokus were absent that info also. I believe Planned Parenthood is behind all of this.

What is this world coming to?

So when there are no more animals on the planet, only people, you will be happy?

There are people who expect great apes to go extinct within a century (excluding humans, which Macroevolutionists consider also be great apes).

If chimpanzees lifespans could be drastically reduced, they could be farmed and they'd be a valuable source of meat. (sort of an aside).
