EPA Chief Vows to Probe E-mail Threatening to ‘Destroy’ Career of Climate Skeptic
During today’s hearing, Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, confronted Stephen Johnson, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), with a threatening e-mail from a group of which EPA is currently a member. The e-mail threatens to “destroy” the career of a climate skeptic. Michael T. Eckhart, president of the environmental group the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), wrote in an email on July 13, 2007 to Marlo Lewis, senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI):
“It is my intention to destroy your career as a liar. If you produce one more editorial against climate change, I will launch a campaign against your professional integrity. I will call you a liar and charlatan to the Harvard community of which you and I are members. I will call you out as a man who has been bought by Corporate America. Go ahead, guy. Take me on."
In a July 16, Washington Times article, Eckhart confirmed that he did indeed write the email.
After Senator Inhofe read Eckhart's comments, Johnson vowed to launch a probe concerning the threatening e-mail. Johnson responded to Inhofe saying, “I was not aware of this quote.” He continued, “Statements like this are of concern to me. I am a believer in cooperation and collaboration across all sectors.”
Johnson then added, “This is an area I will look into for the record.” (See YouTube video of exchange between Senator Inhofe and Johnson)
Senator Inhofe replied, “I would like to have you look into this and make an evaluation, talk it over with your people and see if it is appropriate to be a part of an organization that is headed up by a person who makes this statement.”
Following the hearing, Senator Inhofe announced that he will be sending letters to the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy, and EPA, urging them to “reconsider their membership in ACORE.”

Background:
During today’s hearing ( “Examining the Case for the California Waiver: An Update from EPA” ), Senator Inhofe explained to the Committee that this kind of vilification of climate skeptics and subsequent threats to their professional integrity are not uncommon.
“This is so typical of these hate filled people who threaten and use vile language. I was called a traitor by one of the extreme left, this is what happens when you lose your case and [this threatening e-mail by ACORE’s president] is the best evidence of it,” Senator Inhofe explained.
“We have all of these people who have a stake in [promoting man-made climate hysteria] like the Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen. If the trend now in science is refuting that anthropogenic gases are a primary cause of climate change, then she is out of business, her whole weekly program (The Climate Code) is gone, her career is gone,” Senator Inhofe concluded.

I guess they knew they did not stand a chance against this guy, plus Lomborg did make some statements that were not kind to the Profit Al Gore. The only Democrat that stayed was the chairman, of course, and he gets made a fool out of at the end of the hearing.
In science, you don't defend your theory by threatening opposing views, you do it with proof that your stuff can be verified.
If they were correct, the "warmists" could have proven it by now, but the tide has reversed. They built their house of cards with kings, queens, jacks and aces, but it's still falling down anyway.

I presume that this is the same Heide Cullen referred to earlier in the article. By her own words, she would strip away another persons ability to make a living in their chosen profession for the sin of disagreeing with her.

ACORE accomplishes much of its work by convening the leaders in each of these sectors, publishing collaborative research and facilitating communications among members, their stakeholders and the media.
Guess that they should add "and threatening the careers of influential critics of anthropogenic global warming" to that list, huh...
I really don't think they are so sure of themselves. I think they are very insecure in the position they have taken because the empirical data does not back up their thinking ... people like this get very upset when they have to face the truth.
I like it that these types are so arrogant and blow a headpipe anytime they are called on their “settled science”. Uninformed, bucolic and provincial types who lack the reasoning, knowledge and nuance to swallow their theory, like me, must really keep them awake nights. I would hope to see more such letters sent from ACORE. These type threats broadcast the weakness of GWT. Conform, conform and be absorbed by the collective. resistance is futile, conform. GWT for all intents and purposes is a religion whose god is the earth, money, and arrogance. ACORE is simply rebuking a sinner and if he will become submissive; Mother Gaia and her profit (intentional) Algoracle will forgive him. :)

You will notice the maturity level of most green-thinking folks...is that of a 12-year old kid. I’ve often wondered if they have ADS or did alot of grass in their youth...thus damaging braincells.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. As Darwinism is to Genesis, so Man-Made Global Warming is to Revelations.
I think you would have to download Real Player first so your browser will know what program to call. I tried to find out if they had it in Windows Media because your browser would know that...but they have everything in Real Player. If you install that program, uncheck all the defaults or it will annoy the heck out of you.
