Pace University Koran Case - Unbelievably Outrageous

I’ve received an email from Stanislav Shmulevich, who has been arrested in New York for putting a Koran in a toilet at Pace University. And his case is even more outrageous than we first reported.

First, Shmulevich was arrested and jailed for 24 hours. Second, he’s not facing misdemeanor charges—he’s being charged with two felonies, criminal mischief and aggravated harassment.

Felonies. For putting a book in a toilet.

Third, his income is on a borderline that disqualifies him for a public defender, so he stands to suffer incredible financial hardship as well.

Fourth, his name and photograph were published in several newspapers in New York, and he and his mother were ambushed outside the court by reporters. In a case like this, clearly with the potential to enrage radical Muslims, this is so irresponsible of the media that it borders on criminal.

Do we still live in a country that values free speech? This case is pretty good evidence that we do not. Mr. Shmulevich is caught in a Kafkaesque nightmare right out of the Soviet Union, and it’s all happening at the demand of the Muslim Student Association and the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Stay tuned. This is not over. I’m setting up Mr. Shmulevich with an LGF account, and you’ll be able to discuss it with him in person.

Can anyone in their wildest dreams imagine someone getting arrested and prosecuted for defacing a Bible?

Yet another case of a prosecutor going way way way over the top!

I posted a reply to an earlier thread this morning, while all in the US were asleep. It was being treated as a hate crime.. What the H is that? I throw a paperback in the toilet and I am guilty of a crime?
This is so over the top and why I am happy not to be in the US now. PC will destroy the US.

I posted just that this morning.

Burn the U.S. flag and it’s protected “free speech”
Submersing a Crucifix in a jar of ‘piss’ is considered “freedom of expression”
Flush a Koran and be charged with a “hate crime”.
Teaching the ‘gay agenda’ to Christian students is ordered by the court.
But passing out free Bibles will get you arrested.

Stop the ACLU

Someone on another site claimed that the books were removed from a prayer area. If they were his books and no damage was done. No Problem

First question: Who owned the book?

Second: Was there lasting damage to the plumbing?

Yeah, but that only offended Christians. They won't lift a finger. Those muslims, on the other hand, will cut your head off. Don't you understand logic?

“Fourth, his name and photograph were published in several newspapers in New York.”

Rotten thing to do. Now he’s potentially in danger.

Why’d he take their Koran and throw it in a toilet?

And if a Muslim had taken a Bible and done same, I don’t think they’d be facing felony charges.

I have been mulling about putting in a request for an arts grant to produce works of art such as “Piss Koran”. virgin mohamhead (decorated with porcine droppings). I am sure that I will be getting a large grant from the Endowment of the Arts figuring how much I have been forced to contribute to it over the years.

Since we Americans are apparently subject now to sharia law for disrespecting this book- will sentencing options include beheading or merely 100 lashes and an amputated limb?
