Hilton's inheritance seized by fed up grandfather (Paris disinherited)
National Nine News ^ | July 30, 2007 | ninemsn staff

Paris Hilton’s recent behaviour has sent her billionaire grandfather into fury — so much so that the hotel heiress-cum-jailbird will not see a cent of her $59 million inheritance.

The co-chairman of the famous hotel chain, Conrad ‘Barron’ Hilton, has instead decided to plough his fortune into a charitable foundation in an effort to carry on family tradition.

And the 79-year-old has also cut off his 11 other grandchildren in the name of philanthropy.

"He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris," says Jerry Oppenheimer, author of House Of Hilton. "He doesn't want to leave unearned wealth to his family."

Hilton senior recently acquired a hefty $2.4 billion after selling off a massive chunk of his hotel chain to private equity firm Blackstone.

Given her grandfathers disapproval, Miss Hilton is now working hard to cash in on her fame while she can.

but it’s nice to know that Gradpa has some sense and $60M will be put to good use.

Bull. Most charaties these days either support liberalism or poor life choices. What is it about people on FR that like to see rich people get the shaft. Are they really no different than the envy driven supporters of the Dmocratic party. I like rich people. When I see a rich person I think that this shows that free enterprise is still alive (although somewhat ill) in the USA. If PH inherits money, then this shows that the greedy government hasn't been able to steal everything in generational transfers.

That was my thought. Why punish the grandchildren. Why not START with his OWN kids...Obviously they’ve babied and spoiled their kids rotten to where they’re no earthly good.

This article is in error. It’s not Conrad “Barron” Hilton, but William “Barron” Hilton. Conrad, Sr. died back in 1979. Conrad, Jr. was the infamous Nicky Hilton (the one who was married to Liz Taylor and beat her up), and he died 10 years before his dad did because of his lifestyle.

She won’t go hungry, but it’s nice to know that Gradpa has some sense and $60M will be put to good use.
Actually that old bastard stole all his money by contesting *his* father's will(IIRC he invented "sweat equity") when great grandaddy hilton tried to donate his fortune to the catholic church.

Only fair that his rotten seed should do the same to him.

That’s Paris’s great-grandfather. He was once married to Zsa Zsa.

IIRC, his son, (Paris’ dad) who is somewhat of an idiot..he never worked at Hilton, was all but disinherited when he married..she’s somewhat of a Ditz..a celebrity wannabe..Yes, they’ll never have to worry about $$$$, but the vast bulk of the Hilton fortune was going to skip the first generation and go to Paris et al..now they’ve blown it..(sorry, bad choice of words here) as well..

Warren Buffett has the same philosophy. I don’t know if he’ll leave anything to his heirs. I believe he once espoused a sentiment that when a wealthy man with no spouse dies, all of his wealth should go to the government.........

Paris will be just fine. She has her own brand name and products and makes plenty of $$$ all by herself. She could be completely cut off from the family and probably not have to change her “lifestyle” a bit.

it’s not about the govt. it’s not about the money. It’s about the lack of moral values.

Paris, you can have all the money in the world but without morals and character you’re gonna end up DEAD like Anna Nicole.

I have yet to meet a person with inherited wealth who is a conservative (and I’ve known quite a few over the years).

It seems that if you inherit a fortune, you become a do-gooder with others’ bucks.

Paris is the personification of American decadence. The Mainstream Newsmedia is its voice. The Democrat Party is its political machine.

In all probability, she spends almost as much as she acquires and will wind up with not much. Fitting.

Please. She can spend that much on a dress, or her STD creams.
