The media and anti-war movement disgusts us and couldn't be further from supporting us - we see it for what it is - just political jockeying for votes. Whether you agree with the war or not, supporting us doesn't mean taking away funding, cutting us off at the knees. Ask anybody here, they say finish what we started. We are seeing serious success now - why would you set unrealistic deadlines and not give us the chance to meet them?

Worth repeating - “The point is we’re seeing a turning of the tide, that most of you will not hear about on the news. Interested in knowing what servicemen think of world events? The media and anti-war movement disgusts us and couldn’t be further from supporting us - we see it for what it is - just political jockeying for votes. Whether you agree with the war or not, supporting us doesn’t mean taking away funding, cutting us off at the knees. Ask anybody here, they say finish what we started. Great music. I hope this story, along with all the others now coming out, gets stuffed down the throat of Hairless Reid, Nancy Supposedly, Puss Whine&fold, Dianne FineStain, Baghdad Osama & Haircut Edwards.

When the NY Slime starts publishing articles that say the surge is working, we can only look out for the extreme FLIP-FLOP

OK....I'll repeat it again.

The point is we're seeing a turning of the tide, that most of you will not hear about on the news.

I'm guessing that, in a very short time -- perhaps just a matter of months -- the Drive-Bys will decide they can only defend stupidity for so long and the Democrats' ludicrous effort to try to put a deadline on a war will be met with the universal ridicule it has always deserved.

That's what he said he'd be doing: going topless at the beach listening to Top Gun 80s-type music!

Don't hold your breath.

The media and the Democratic party are tied at the hip. I expect the Democrats will say that they caused Bush to change strategies and leadership and they deserve the credit for success in Iraq.

The press will cover their backside by ignoring all of their previous calls for withdraw and focus on whatever new 'scandal' the Bush administration is 'guilty of'.

Hopefully, the voting America is smart enough to recognize the truth. It would also help if the Republicans would actually go on the offensive against the terrorist aiding Democrats. Then again, maybe I'm dreaming.

Sincerely

Pretty much the same story from my Marine over there now.

Can’t tell me much and I don’t want him too, OPSEC is a family way of life.

Here's to you and your Smoothguy. I tried to be careful about names and some places for OPSEC reasons.

I just hope he doesn’t bump in to a Liberal or a Ron Paul supporter who has been working so hard here in the states and risking so much to get us defeated in Iraq. After all these Liberals and Paulistineans have been through, they’re not going to tolerate some Marine who thinks just because he’s been in Iraq he can throw cold water on their dreams of a defeat. I mean who does he think he is? / Sarcasm off ;-)

May this Marine and all his associates feel the relieve and much needed rest once they arrive back in Kuwait to then board their planes for home. I can to some degree relate to how they may feel, being through two welcome home events for my nephew who was there twice.
I still on occasions think back to his first tour, while at FOB Mamudiayah. He was amoung the last eight Marines to board choppers to fly to Baghdad International, as their BN prepared to leave Iraq.
