Skip to comments.Justice John Roberts had seizure

Just heard it on John Gibson's Big Story. I hope I'm wrong but that's how I heard it.
Long before John Roberts was a federal judge, he apparently suffered a seizure while playing golf. It was in January 1993, while he was in private practice. News reports at the time say he was not allowed to drive for several months and took the bus to work. There’s no indication that doctors ever figured out what happened. The White House called it an “isolated, idiosyncratic seizure.”
Watching “Tucker” live. Still no report on MSNBC.
Prayers up for Justice Roberts. May he recover fully.
Thanks. I was beginning to feel like a kicked dog. I know I would have wanted someone to post it ASAP even with that little information.
Thnaks for posting, Proud.
I just heard on the local news that he was taken to the hospital as a precaution. They don’t know the nature or extent of the injuries, but it is reassuring to hear that the hospital trip was just a precaution.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
“One down, Fat Tony to go. “
and he quoted Scripture before that statement!!
LOL! Or Andrea Martin's character from SCTV... Edith Prickly
so does chuckie schumer....
If no encephalitis is present (viral infection of the brain), lung cancer metastatic to the brain is a strong candidate for seizure in this age group.
Perhaps... you know the saying, "it takes brains to have epilepsy". I pray he's ok, but if he does have epilepsy...big deal! I've had it for close to 40 years and I have enjoyed a pretty normal life. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but it certainly is not the end of the world.
Nothing brings out the idiosyncrasies better than a blind side threat to impeach you or haul you up on perjury charges supposedly because you said you would never go against precedent (which was never pledged).
If the report is true, then this may confirm an epilepsy diagnosis. It takes at least two such seizures before epilepsy can be diagnosed.
3) Ingmar Bergman
Prayers for Chief Justice Roberts.
I join you in prayer for Chief Justice Roberts; may he be healed, and may he be aware of the Arms of God ever about him...
Another thread has popped up where someone here has diagnosed it as a “grand mall” seizure..........
My sister in law was taking a diet pill that caused her seizures.
I doubt Roberts was taking diet pills, but it could be a medication he was taking.
If he hasn't had a seizure since 1993, that we know of, there could be many reasons for it.
Yeah, that’s the type associated with epilepsy.
Grand mall is a big shopping place.
Grand mal, however.........
I would certainly hope not.
This report has the most detail I’ve seen yet; sounds bad:
“Justice John Roberts had seizure
Daily Kos celebrates.”
HuffPo & DU are celebrating, also. They`re just a bit disappointed that he did`nt die.
As opposed to petit mal.
I hope it was an isolated event, and that it won't affect his ability to serve on the SCOTUS. You can bet every ruling he makes from now on will generate a chorus of Dem accusations that he's suffered brain damage and can't serve effectively.
Rumor is he saw Ted Kennedy in swim trunks on another nearby dock!
That does indeed sound bad. Falling 5-10 feet, hitting the back of his head, foaming at the mouth.
This excerpt from a CNN report:
Sources close to the chief justice said Roberts suffered an unexplained seizure in 1993, soon after his first nomination to the D.C. circuit stalled in the Senate.
Friends blamed the seizure on stress from the confirmation fight, and Roberts limited certain activities such as driving after it happened. But after a few weeks, the problem went away, and he has since not suffered any health crises, the sources said.
Bloomberg News has asked that Free Republic allow none of their material to be posted here. Your post has to be removed.
I can’t believe the level of breathlessness and panic something as simple as a fainting spell can cause.
This is the height of irresponsible.
I just hope he had the seizure and then fell instead of falling and having one.
Ingmar Bergman made number 3.

Im not in the censorship business.
Some 25 years ago, while I was a teaching assistant at American University (DC) I happened to be talking to the professor in charge of the course about certain student who had petit mal. The professor stated that "everybody knows that people with epilepsy are retarded". I looked down to her, reminded her that I had a GPA of 4.0 and IQ of 140. I added that I had epilepsy, grand mal, and I took offense at her comments. Next I went to the department chairman and asked to be assigned to some other professor the following semester!
Since then I had heard many ignorant people make derogatory comments about people with epilepsy. But that was my first experience and it upset me more than I can describe with words. OTOH I went on to get a Ph.D. in molecular biology, publish a number of papers, get married, have children... currently I teach at a local college, convenient to my childrens' school. And, other than one 6-month stint without driving, I have pretty much done as I pleased... epilepsy or not. Justice Roberts may or may not have epilepsy, but it takes a democrat to think that it would interfere with his ability to do his job!
Seizures are frigtening things. I had 5 grand mals in 1988, before my doctor put me on medication to control them. I was 38 at the time. I was fine until 1999, got careless about taking the medication, and had another one.
What exactly is a gran mnal seizure?
I asked the Moderator to remove my link to the DU thread.
You think it’s classified?
In keeping with the intolerance of the radical left, here is a quote from the hateful bastard ThomasWV over at the sick daily kos lookalike website “Democratic Underground”:
Post #2. I don’t care what anyone says, I hope its a stroke and I hope it kills him.
I wonder how Senator Johnson is doing in his recovery?
