If you’d like ON or Off the Nascar at FR racing threads & stuff Ping List, let me know via Private Reply. Thanks!

This is not a High Volume Ping List and is intended primarily to alert folks of the posting of the weekly Nascar qualifying and race threads.

Occasional sports or military or prayers Pings using the list may also be sent as situation or subject dictates.

Profanities, flame wars and belligerence in observing common sense rules and family decency standards on the thread may result in serious sanctions so be nice. :-)

Tony provided the two best moments of the race:

1) Hands free water bottle maneuver

2) “Here kitty, kitty, kitty.....”

Pocono was the BIG track for me when I was a kid. Not the best place to watch a race.

At least it’s not a road course like Watkins Glen. You can follow that one next week when I post that thread.

Thanks for the ping, NYT!

Pocono - the track where they ran out of money before they could get the last turn built!

I am going to have to add on to my family room wall. No more room for winning plaques.!. Good old Tony is costing me $$ again, but it is worth it to see him win again. I was hoping he would win at Sonoma, since that is my home track and he is good at road coarses, but hopefully he can take Pocono and Watkins Glen and give the Rainbor Warrior a run for his money.

Sears Point (they can call it Infineon all they want - to me, it’s still “The Point”) is my home track, too! Of course I wanted a Gordon win - anyone but Montoya (really, really don’t like him).

I think it may shape up to be a Gordon/Stewart chase - which would be fine by me (the better half is a Stewart fan).

I don’t know about those who have commented or will comment, NASCAR on ESPN just doesn’t fit. But, I’ll watch it a scream at the TV and Rusty Wallace and all of the “aero loose” BS. Oh, I failed to mention Susie Culver covering NASCAR is crazy. Fox has by far the best announcers and coverage.

Further comment: The whole Tony Stewart crew going up the fence was great.

My best friend from Michigan flies out every year for the Sears Point race and he is a huge Jeff Gordon fan, so we are quite the odd couple when we walk around the 50 acres campground with me in my TS garb and him in his JG garb. I do have the edge as it is my trailer and it is decked out with TS towels, blankets, pillows, rugs, flags, you name it. He tried once to put a Jeff Gordon decal on the back window when I wasn’t paying attention. It came off right after I dropped him at the airport!.
