Yes they are,that's why they kill pests.
Worked in agriculture,was a spray tech on golf courses,read the label,wear the proper safety equipment,apply correctly,hey,I'm still here;)

hmmm, well I’ve been buzzed by crop dusters for 7 years now, and the same goes for spraying...
Pretty much the whole area I live in has been sprayed or dusted since they figured out how to do it...

I remember once I was out in the field when a farmer in the neighboring farm sprayed his field when the wind was blowing. What a mess. People were coughing and hacking for 10 minutes after we ran out of the field.
