Did you know that “meat” is actually green due to curing (putrifaction), and that the “red” color is a result of chemicals added to change color??

Where do you nutjobs get crap like this? I have butchered enough of my own meat to call BS on you on this one. If you don't want to eat meat, don't. Who cares? Leaves more for me! But please refrain from posting lies...we leave that to the DUmmies.

Animals on factory farms do not see the sun or get a breath of fresh air until they are prodded and crammed onto trucks for a nightmarish ride to the slaughterhouse, often through weather extremes and always without food or water. Many die during transport, and others are too sick or weak to walk off the truck after they reach the slaughterhouse. The animals who survive this hellish ordeal are hung upside-down and their throats are slit, often while they’re completely conscious. I fully understand your right to be a Vegan, but according to you, in March of this year you had a 31 inch waist and were 37 years old, but by mid May, you had a 32 inch waist and more importantly, you were 40 years old!

I had no idea Vegans aged more quickly than meat eaters..... I'm going to grill some beef tonight!

You never told them they were food, never gave them a heads up in 24 hours they would be on someone plate, you didn't give them a last meal to their likening, never gave them a chance to say goodbye ?

Wonderful post! I doubt I’ll run into too many farm-ignorant vegans out here in Iowa, but I know plenty of vegetarian/vegan snobs in other places to make this worthwhile information.

I spend lots of time traveling coast to coast, and now, I live in Utah, I see lots of People, and have some very interesting plane rides, Like the time I sat next to a marine biologist who was going to a global warming conference, he spent the whole time trying to explain why the charts on "Greenhouse Gasses" and earth temperatures were always off by the temperature rising first, finally, about 15 minutes before we landed, he said, you really don't care do you? and I replied, anyone who believes in global warming is either employed in the industry as you are or Al Gore. He glared at me and shut up, people kept coming up to me in the terminal and thanking me for putting him in his place, it was a riot, and my connection was delayed anyway, so I had the time.

FR is such a good place to get the straight dope on anything, I love you guys.

That's funny, it didn't look green at all to me when I watched them slaughter and butcher a cow (a steer, actually) for a shooting match/BBQ I once attended. Certainly, certain parts were different colors, but I assure you, the parts we are were red, not green. Oh, and dry aged meat will often turn a bit grey, but not green.
