ATLANTA, July 30 (UPI) — Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, facing federal dogfighting charges, said Monday he hopes circumstances will allow his return to the team.

In his first public comments since being indicted July 17, Vick told Atlanta radio station WVEE-FM he was keeping a smile on my face for his mother and was relying on prayer to get him through his legal ordeal. Asked whether he would rejoin the Falcons, he answered, Hopefully so. Under the right circumstances I think it can work.

Gentlemen of the jury: The best friend a man has in this world may turn against him and become his enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name, may become traitors to their faith. The money that a man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it the most. A man’s reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill-considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads. The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him and the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog.

Gentleman of the jury: A man’s dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master’s side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer, he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounters with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.

If fortune drives the master forth an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him to guard against danger, to fight against his enemies, and when the last scene of all comes, and death takes the master in its embrace and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by his graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even to death.

I wish things for Vick that are better not typed out on a public forum.

What Vick needs to hope for is that the judge will agree to a minimum security federal prison.

Not so quick - under the right circumstances it totally can work. These circumstance include:

--- They play "Kill the Man With the Football" - after all he's such an awesome runner he can escape all pursuers
--- The other players get sharpened metal cleats, ala another Georgia psychotic speedster, Ty Cobb (how sick are you to be a bigger loon than Cobb?)
--- Vick is such a man he can play nude - his dogs didn't need all that fancy protection either, why should his boys?

What do you want to bet that the only praying this sick POS ever did, was that his dog would win. Go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00

Or, they chain him to an axle behind the stadium and starve him, like many of the dogs at his former house.

Too passive a punishment. Unless the axle is on a moving vehicle....

Well, if he did, the club would have to change the name of the team: The Atlanta Pit Bulls.

This is really a dreadful story.

Fans hope otherwise. It is like this Mike: we don’t appreciate being given the finger when you can’t win games, don’t believe you just hid bling in the water bottle, and we love dogs here in the South. Even the snowbirds and halfbacks won’t help you this time.

If you step on that field, I would advise keeping your helmet on. The dog bones raining down on you could mess your hair.

I cannot imagine (and I hope) that neither the Falcons nor the NFL are foolish enough to give this sociopath a 2nd chance.

Or is that 3rd chance? Wait, I think 4th......you get the picture.

Vick hopes to return to Falcons

The dogs probably want to return to dog beach in Del Mar where they can frolic with other dogs... If he is innocent which should be easy to determine considering one of the accused has plead guilty, turning states evidence, then he can do what ever he wants.

Michael, all you can do at this time is call O.J. and arrange a tee-time!

Oh, and how come all your interviews and statements are on the local black station, Mike. Why not go on a real sports radio station or show? Huh?

Aww, did I hear Rawlings dropped you as a spokesman?

Vick is living in lala land. Vick you are out of football for good bro. Your name causes chills to run down the spine of every decent human and no one wants you back.
