O'Reilly Factor Provides Free Republic Offending Comments Links

Edited on 08/01/2007 4:30:51 PM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

I received an e-mail today from the Fox News producer who booked me for the O'Reilly Factor last night. The links have been forwarded to Jim Robinson for review.

Jim asked me to start a thread with the links so that Freepers, and everyone else, could see for themselves what the fuss is about.

The Hillary Clinton stray bullet assassination comment was a very bad joke comment that someone posted two days ago. It was flagged last night after the O'Reilly Factor broadcast and was removed by a moderator. It is available for the time being in Google cache:

To: Virginia Ridgerunner I like my scenario better:

After eight years of the economy faltering, interest rates are 19%, 900,000 people are dead in Iraq since we left, taxes have gone up by 60% and Chile, Bolivia and Columbia are now Communist regimes, a stray bullet at a NARAL rally catches President Clinton and kills her.

As they take away Cindy Sheehan she screams why did she have to remove the troops? We were winning.

The next day the dow goes up 2000 points and closes at 2150.

Don't even bother trying to defend that one. Assassination jokes have no place on Free Republic. Yes, Cindy Sheehan has written of her fantasizies about killing President Bush--and she's not joking, but that's her problem. We're better than that.

The "homosexuals are dogs" comment is taken out of context. The actual quote is "Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger." That was in reference to an article about proprieters in the U.K. not being allowed to deny hotel accomodations to homosexual couples on account of religious belief.

The American Heritage online dictionary gives this description for the phrase: dog in the manger, NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. dogs in the manger. One who prevents others from enjoying what one has no use for oneself. ETYMOLOGY: From a fable in which a dog prevented an ox from eating hay he did not want himself.

That comment was posted two days ago and has also been removed by the moderators. It is available for now in Google cache.

The "I hate blacks" comment was nowhere to be found in the other threads referenced.

The threads are about crime in the black community, gangsta culture and Jesse Jackson. Two of the threads are in the Smoky Backroom.

Oh, yeah, MySpace with the 29,000 known sexual predators that they just got around to booting out of the place..... at least they’ve done something now, but how long were all those scumbags there, trolling for fresh victims? O’Reilly should focus on NewsCorp for awhile!

I wouldn’t be a BIT surprised to see YOUR post # 55 showcased on O’Reilly tonite or soon, and to see hymn wagging it in our faces while saying “see? even FR members agree with me”.

Maybe that was your intent? Maybe you’d even like some facetime as a “guest”?

O’Reilly isn’t worth watching and you’re not worth reading - the common denominator is less-than-honest spin.

"Good find.",/i>

Thanks Jet! read this days ago and figured out how things would come out. I found it on Yahoo while searching on Freerepublic/news.
Who would have thought it would show up in news?

If I had known Kristinn was slated to be on I would had alerted him.

Obscene comments that should never be made are made in almost every thread.

Did you report abuse when you saw these comments on "almost every thread"?

You're trolling.

The mods may do a good job at keeping trolls out but they should don’t care what a lot of the regular posts say.

You ever bother to report these comments to the moderators?

What makes you think they actually see every comment?

They don't.

That's why the 'Abuse' button is there.

yeah...kinda...;-)

It probably won’t be much of a debate...Maybe we can scratch up a few folks and make a road trip out of it...

I would love to do it...I was inspired by “Dix” and “Allegra”...

"Homosexuals are the modern day dogs in the manger"
Not only did BOR truncate the original phrase to alter its meaning, he put it through the PC spin cycle to change the original "Homosexuals" to "Gays."

No-Spin Zone my butt.

Standards? What standards.

Lets go with your O'Reilly like comment. He would agree FR has none. Case closed.

I post on here from time to time but I find a large number of people to be extremely hateful. Obscene comments that should never be made are made in almost every thread.

Bill O'Reilly would agree with you on that. No one familiar with FR would.

There are a lot of people that post on Free Republic that are either sick in the head or post disgusting comments because they figure nobody will ever know who they are.

There's a few, much less then on most chat/political sites. Another exaggeration

But lemme ask you this: Would you want anyone to know who you are after posting this ridiculous anti-FR post?

Sorry but Free Republic is full of disgusting comments.

If that is most of what you see, then you must be looking for them. More strawman like comments.

The mods may do a good job at keeping trolls out but they should don’t care what a lot of the regular posts say.

Well, you are soooo wrong there. They definitely should NOT don't care. They should care. I hope you can understand my grammar, I'm trying to match yours...

IF Free Republic was the only view of the Republican party that I ever got then I would think Republicans were the most hate filled group out there.

Oh dear, I should have read the last paragraph first. LOL, FR is NOT the view of the Republican Party.

It isn’t everyone, of course, but there are a large number of people on here that should keep their mouth shut most of the time. That will never happen though.

Oh not too many. You maybe. Disingenuous whining isn't very becoming of anyone.

You did a good job on The Laughtor. It seemed as though he tried to blindside you and just shout you down, as he clearly wasn’t listening. At that point, it might have been easier to just say, “Bill, sometimes people come on and try to cause trouble and objectionable posts are 1) reported by other posters to the moderators and 2) removed upon review. Every post has an available abuse button, which can be used anonymously. Frequently, the offending poster is subsequently banned from posting on Free Republic.”

Al Franken (of all people) wrote an entire chapter, in one of his books, on O’Reilly called “Bill O’Reilly: Lying, Splotchy Bully.” He also called him “O’Lie-lly.”

I really think the "I hate blacks" comment came from the thread about the Asian American who wrote the "I hate blacks" article in an Asian American newspaper. There is more details on the other thread Kristinn made last night.

There definently needs to be an apology if the claim is false.

The last is the worst. O'Reilly said "I Hate Blacks". Where is it? Racist statements are the most inflamatory. Moderators cannot pull non-existant posts.

Somebody has posted the phrase "I Hate Blacks" on Free Republic.

It was part of the HEADLINE of an ARTICLE published in "San Francisco Gate.com" (SFGate.com) entitled:

Asian paper's "I Hate Blacks" column assailed

Freepers then went on to blast the author of said newspaper column as "an idiot racist".

It seems that Bill O'Reilly had his "Dan Rather Moment" with "All the News that is Fit to Fake".
