The grand finale of this effort will be a giant pro-troop rally in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007. A coalition of pro-troop organizations will team up to amass a giant crowd of proud, patriotic Americans who will send a message that the American people support our troops and their missions, and we won't stand for surrender to the terrorists. Here's a list of just some of the participating organizations that have pledged their support of this effort:
# Move America Forward
# Gathering of Eagles
# Eagles Up
# FreeRepublic.com
# Protest Warriors
# Victory Caucus
# OpposeReid.com
# Families United
A few days later on Sept. 18, 2007, the good people at Vets for Freedom will also lead a contingent of Iraq veterans to meet members of Congress and urge them not to hand al-Qaida a victory in Iraq.

BumP!
Melanie’s heart is in the right place but her delivery leaves me wanting. Just last week on FoxNews she said “Sha-RYE-ah law” then Alan Colmes smugly asked if she meant “Sha-RYE-ah law” and she said yes. She didn’t get that that she was being mocked by Alan Colmes.
She was also very catty about Anna Nicole Smith on her radio show, someone could pull up the transcript. It was so trashy, I couldn’t believe it.
Chalk me up as a wannabe Melanie fan, but totally turned off. She does good work; I just wish she’d brush up a little more before going Prime Time.
There’s one big difference between the bridge collapse and the terrorist attacks of September 2001: the imminent danger to the residents of Minnesota has now passed; the danger our citizens face from Islamic jihadists has not.BUMPWhatever your opinion of the Bush administration’s handling of the missions in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), the fact remains that terrorists have declared war or “jihad” upon us.
The declaration of war went ignored for more than two decades, by both Republican and Democrat presidential administrations.
When Islamic terrorists hijacked airplanes, and even a cruise ship, and Americans were killed or taken hostage, we dismissed it as the actions of a small group of deranged militants.
When the jihadists blew up nightclubs and embassies and killed more Americans, we rationalized it by questioning whether our foreign policy in the Middle East might be responsible. Quixotic presidential candidate Ron Paul explained on Bill Maher’s left-wing cable show that we were responsible for the acts of violence by Islamic jihadists.
According to Paul and others, the bombing of the USS Cole, the 1993 World Trade Center attack and thousands yes, thousands of previous acts of terrorism by the jihadists are really our fault. These people are either ignorant of history or are intentionally dishonest in an effort to advance their misguided ideology.
Didja mean to say that Melanie Morgan pronounced it Sha-REE-ya law? I’ve even heard so-called ‘experts’ pronounce it that way.
Nope. She said “Sha RYE ah Law.”
Rye, as in Rye bread.
BUMP
So she said Sha-RYE-ah law and Colmes said Sha-RYE-ah law also. So she learned Alan how to say it?
Sharia (Arabic: شريعة transliteration: ÃÂarīÃÂah)
Can you give me a phonetic way to say it correctly?
Whoops! Guess I’m the dummy too, then, I thought it WAS sha-RYE-ah. Nevermind.... ;-p
Here it is again hopefully correctly:
Sharia (Arabic: شريعة transliteration: ÂarīÂah)
Yes. Sh is one letter, r is one letter, ee another, a another.
Hard to do here, but Melanie was not pronouncing it properly. No one says “Shar-RYE-ah Law” not even native Arabic speakers. It’s “Shar-ee-ah- Law.”
I’m not looking for a fight, just thought this was embarassing.
There is no “eye” or “Rye” in Arabic, only “ee.” There is no letter that would translate to the “eye/Rye” sound.
Par for the course, sadly, for the quasi-candidate in question.
Some odd, scattered folks firmly believe (or, at least, pretend to believe) that these are sane and rational creatures, produced by a sane and rational culture:

Others of us, in comparison, choose not to smoke crack.
I have heard it also Sha-ree-ah- Law.
Say it either way fast and it sounds the same.
I'm sure even you would be corrected by a native speaker. And Alan also. No biggie.
So she got it off somewhat, sorry it embarassed you. I am sure she will shrug it off. But I imagine Colmes went to bed tonite thinking about how he corrected her...LOL
Thanks!
None of it sounds like “Sha RYE ah” in any dialect I’ve heard. Melanie made herself sound ignorant, and that’s what bothered me. She has a good message, she just needs some work.
I wish Melanie well. As I said her heart is in the right place, she just needs to get her mouth there as well.
No prob. :)
Melanie Morgan has been doing fine in the reporting business for many decades. You’re a wee bit condescending here.
It’s not ignorant to occasionally mispronounce an Islamic word.
Please don’t let it bother you so much. Now I am feeling bad for you.
Perhaps we should repeal the law?
Do you listen to her program? I do, or rather have, and I just don’t like it. You do.
No problems.
I've actually met the guy, you could throw him over your shoulder and still manicure your nails.
Heck, there's a big difference in the way a Bostonian says "Harvard Yard" than a Floridian would say it. How about the way a New Yorker says "Long Island"?
Kudos, Melanie!
Potato...Pahtahtoe,,, Ka-tar....cutter,,,, shareeah...sharyeah.
Big effing deal! Any of the pronunciations work. And they will swing like a pendulum. Some groups even pronounce aunt...auhnnt instead of ant, Though probably correct, they sound wromg.
Besides, When did Alan Colmes become an authority or worthy of emulation?
Jeez, those guys look like the inhabitants of any of the many mental institutions in this country. Notice the “wild” eyes, they’re always a dead giveaway.
Since I myself don't know the exact pronunciation, I have to be put into the same camp as Melanie.
The upside point of that, is that if I were to be ignorant of the pronunciation of a word, I'd rather it be one that was from radical Islam as opposed to something more fundamental to the ideals of freedom and liberty.
Appreciate any help you can give on how to say 'Sharia' correctly.
I'll be practicing that one over the weekend... driving down the road, taking a shower, etc... I'll probably have NSA agents all worked up by the end of the weekend haha!
I always found that one interesting.
We have a different way in the West and the U.S. of sometimes pronouncing things that translate into English letters differently than they do in other languages, but then sometimes it's decided it's more politically correct to pronounce said city/word/name in a manner more suited to the pronunciation used by the local population.
LOL
Big deal. How many different pronunciations for Al-Quaida have we heard in the media? As long as we understand what she’s referring to it’s good enough for me.
Plus Morgan wears many hats.
Some people don’t like how she wears some of them, re her radio show etc, that’s their problem
Melanie Morgan Rocks!
In fact, www.melaniemorganrocks.com LOL
And Americans say sha-RYE-uh.
Why should we pronounce their words as if we were Muslims? We're not. (Maybe you are.)
Right. And now we're supposed to say Mos-coe, rather than Mos-cow. And rather than CHILL-ee, we're supposed to say Chi-LAY. It's insane.
If you would like your name removed from the list please FReepmail me. We are trying to reach all interested and prevent anyone from being missed or falling through the cracks.
If you are not on the list, and want on, please let me know.

But O’Reilly and his producers will surely cast this and FR’s affiliation aside. His template against FR is cast, and it’s unlikely he will pop the fallacal bubble he constructed and in which he is besieged.
LOL and Klunks!
wish i could be.
And let's not forget "YER-a-nus", formerly known as "Yer-AIN-us".
