John McCain has suddenly changed his position on immigration! He also changed his name to "Tom Duncan Tancredo Hunter," danced the cha cha, dyed his hair purple, joined Cirque de Soleil, threatened to invade a sovereign nation (oh wait, that's Obama), endorsed setting up Murder Squads to assassinate, er, "capture or kill", people in other countries (oh wait, that's Obama, too), dressed like Marlene Dietrich, declared his love for Nancy Reagan, and then adopted all the children Angelina Jolie hasn't had time to get to.
All just a bit too little, too late. Won't he be surprised to find out we still won't vote for him and still think bad thoughts when we hear his name? Nice try though. For a pandering, patronizing self-obsessed loser who doesn't think much at all for the people of the United States. After all, if we secure the border, who will pick all that lettuce and dig the wells??
McCain changes course on immigration
WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful John McCain on Thursday backed a scaled-down proposal that imposes strict rules to end illegal immigration but doesn't include a path to citizenship.
The move away from a comprehensive measure is an about-face for the Arizona senator, who had been a leading GOP champion of a bill that included a guest worker program and would have legalized many of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. It failed earlier this year.
"We can still show the American people that we are serious about securing our nation's border," McCain said in a statement, adding that the new bill would "provide an essential step toward achieving comprehensive reform in the future."
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!
One last thought, with all that Manly Man talk from Barry Obama, I think it's pretty clear he's made the mistake of responding to a few of those "Add four more inches to your leadership skills" emails we all get. The problem, of course, is that you really don't get four more inches, you just get to look stupid.
McCain not only needs to drop out of the race, he needs to be primaried and defeated in Arizona.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Really???? Sweet! I'm a McCainiac now! Time to write his campaign a big check, and maybe volunteer some time, too.
/Do I really need the tag?
Juan MexCain was probably one of the ones using a wine glass to bail out the Titanic
Tammy Bruce is great. Thanks for posting it.
McCain never had a chance at Nationwide politics sine his Keating Five disaster.
Too bad the people of AZ keep him in office.
To bad he can’t take Rudy with him. Apparently, the GOP liberal wing is alot larger than I ever imagined.
McCain, Graham, Kyl think we will forget the slanders and slurs they put upon us - bigots, racists, yahoos, nativists.
Sorry guys. At least you could have included in your phony make-up attempts an apology for all the insults you heaped upon those who weren’t going to go along with your support-the-lawbreakers-so-our-corporate-sponsors-get-cheap-labor-and-make-big-profits friends.
You had your say - now it’s our turn.
Lindsey - start looking for your lobbying job with La Raza - you are soon to be history.
Changed his position???!!! Why, NO candidate has EVER done THAT before!!! Whatever will all the others do now?
Where’s my flip-flops?

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.
No she does not, and bless her for it. Thanks for posting it.
His family needs to have mercy on him, and take him home and keep him there by any means necessary before he is eviscerated publicly at some point in this process. It would be a kindness to take him home now. I don’t like him, but I want to see this happen to him - and it will.
My favorite hottie lesbian blogger.
LOL! Tammy Bruce tells it like it is.
No, that's Giuliani. :-)
Unfortunately, he’s not up for reelection until 2010.
ROFL. Good to see you Owl.
McCain hasn’t changed his view on anything. I received a letter from him dated July 17th, in response to a very pointed email I sent during the immigration fiasco. His letter is the same-old, same-old. Any MSM treatment of him as changing his view on immigration is flatly wrong.
LOL! Hooray Tammy! LOL! Great thread. Thanks to all posters.
I coined that name. Tammy better send me a check...LOL...
LOL. Good work.
I think we can stick a fork in Adm’ral John...
I hope this will not lull voters into complacency while our "leaders" in Washington try to sneak secretly bills providing amnesty and who knows what all perks to illegal aliens. Some of them sound like they have a fetish for illegals.
That's all I needed to realize he was a threat to liberty. I must admit I find his graveling satisfying........BWAHAHAHAHAHA....
If he supoports an enforcement only bill, that is 180 degrees from the arguments he made since I’ve been paying attention.
You mean McCain Feingold Thompson?
That’s a keeper!
Yes, his change is, give them visa now and when no body is looking we will slip in amnesty.
Bushs popularity will be competeing with Jimmah Carter sooner rather than later..
And as long as he can keep delivering the pork to Arizona the voters there will (probably) continue re-electing him. That's politics for you.
His letter dated July 17th says nothing about enforcement only. The final paragraph reads: "I have been working with many of my colleagues, as well as President Bush, to pass legislation to fix our broken immigration system. On May 21, 2007, the Senate began consideration of comprehensive immigration reform. After weeks of debate, a procedural vote to advance the legislation failed by a vote of 46-53. Although the Senate was unable to conclude its debate on the immigration bill, I will continue working to enact comprehensive immigration reform legislation because I consider it to be critical to our national security efforts." Highlight mine.
That doesn't sound like enforcement only to me.
Was Thompson a co-sponsor...are you sure?
Well, the Wash. Post and others are reporting he is on board with the enforcement only bill that is moving in DC now. Of course, the devil is the details.
Not only a cosponsor, but one of the drafters.
I bet he wishes he could turn back time......and change that position.
To his credit, he has at least disavowed portions of it in the last few months. Then again, he supported it when it was in front of the SCOTUS in 2003.
McCain is lame.
Grahamensty is toast!

Well, either he changed his mind since the 17th, didn't tell his staff letter writers that he's changed his mind, or hasn't changed his mind and the WP/others, being DUmmie MSM, have got it wrong (again).
Take your pick. It's just another nail in an already closed coffin for me.
I will add another pejorative from a specific former moderate elite who would accuse from their gated community ... called us 'purists'!!!!!
Oh, he was already about 9th on the list of 10 candidates for me.
You are correct, sez write in Tam's article he still wants to work for comprhensive reform.
WOW! This lady nails it with a great big hammer, bless her! McPain was for it before he was against it. Phooey on McPain. I wish I lived in Arizona just so I could vote against him.
Well said Tammy.
Maverick, Lindsey, Kyl, Lott and McConnell can take a flying leap for all I care about their futures.
Besides, since we’ve been designated bigots by them I’m sure they don’t want our votes tainting their totals on election day anyway.
Does anyone know who may be thinking about stepping up to take on McCain in a Primary? Now is the time for a NAME !!
