Fresno Support Our Troops Rally
not politically corewrecked

Posted on 08/03/2007 9:52:45 PM PDT by notpoliticallycorewrecked

The Fresno Chapter of Free Republic braved the heat to stand toe to toe with Peace Fresno tonight. The heat was bearable due to a slight breeze that brought the air temp down to about 100 degrees. Even so, it still felt pretty hot out there at Blackstone and Shaw.

The peaceniks of Peace Fresno set up across the street from us. They had a new sign out this evening. It was a series of cards that spelled out IMPEACH on it. They started packing up a few minutes after 6 and were gone by 6:30. I wonder if Michael Moore knows that they are starting to cut out early on the timeclock.

Good job! You probably intimidated the peacefreaks into leaving early. Along with the Central Valley heat - it’s not for the fainthearted.

It is standard procedure for them to close up shop at 6:30. We think that they are being paid by Micheal More since they were featured in his 9-11 film.

It wouldn’t surprise me a bit. Anti-American moonbatty protesters never act from conviction; it’s always for money.

Great seeing you all again and standing with you to support our troops. Also pinging Syncro, even though you weren't there. I know you actually were with us in spirit. :-)

I think JK may have taken some photos, but I am too distraught to even think about posting them. I just ran my cell phone through the washer!!! Can you believe that? Will it ever work again? Does anyone know?

Hey, I just saw the segment on channel 24 about us. You did a good job, Jim. :-)

Did anyone else see the Channel 24 news?

They did air the report on us and Peace Fresno. They opened the story with a great shot of our signs. They didn't even bother to show the war protest signs. They did show a interview with a Peace Fresno individual, but ended the piece showing Jim talking about our support of the troops, with a final shot of one of our signs. The they spent 75 % of the piece on us and only 25 on Peace Fresno.

You might be able to save it. Let it dry out for a few days. Take the back off to let the water out.

LOL. That's okay. Besides, we really aren't the FRESNO regulars, we're the Tulare immigrants who migrate up to your fine city once a month...legally, of course. ;-)

I did take the back off and I blew it dry with my blow dryer on low. I thought on high the intense heat might do more damage than the water. It looks dry on the outside, but I am sure it is still wet on the inside. I guess all I can do is hope that it will work. Otherwise it's off to the Cingular store to get another phone tomorrow.

The good news is that the memory chip inside should still be okay, so all my numbers can be transfered to a new phone. At least, that is what I read on the internet....so, it's got to be true, right? LOL.

100 degrees ????? I have a photo of the thermometer on my van that shows the outside temp at 107 degrees. Not too bad since our military has full battle dress on in 120 degrees.

Now JK,
You know that the electronic billboard across the street said that it was 0 degrees. So if couldn’t be that hot.

HOORAY for the good guys! FreeRepublic was again bicoastal. The DC Chapter is fortunate to have a young lady is full of energy and gets us wound up and yelling support for our troops. It drives the lefties crazy.
