Tehran, 3 August (AKI) - A young Iranian who was searching for his lost puppy in a Tehran neighborhood has been arrested and ordered to stand trial for 'moral corruption'.
According to the Tehran daily, Etemad Melli, the young man was caught while putting up a notice in which he was promising a reward to anyone who found his dog.
"Looking for a lost dog indicates the spread of a corrupt culture, which indirectly popularises keeping a dog at home, something that is completely foreign to the culture and Isamic tradition," said Tehran police spokesman, Mehdi Ahmadi.
"In arresting this young man, we wanted to send a very clear message to our young people, you need to steer away from the corrupt culture imported from the west."
Damn the mullahs.
That says more than enough about their "culture and tradition".
Rampant cruelty and injustice will lead to a government’s demise.

IIRC, Salukis have a special status in Islam, but even they aren't to be kept as pets.

I'm reading about the Lewis and Clark expedition and I found out the American Indians really loved dogs.
Abu Hurayra, whose name is translated as “father of the little cat,” apparently hated dogs and women. He narrated many hadiths that insulted women and cursed the dogs. He made them undesirable animals that need to be avoided and even killed.
Actually it says mnore about the executions of about 20 youths in the past couple of weeks for thuggery and moral turpitude. Now you know what they mean by this. Searching for a lost dog is a crime against morality.
Nobody knows what the actual charges were against the executed men, nor if there were ever even a trial prior to hanging.

Having grown up around many breeds and owned many different, I can say for sure, most dogs can detect people with evil intent. Crazed Junk yard dogs aside, any dog from a loving family will go ape crazy if they detect a bad person approaching. I’ve seen this over and over. Humans give off involuntary “tells” that the dogs can pick up on.

A lot of them look like they smell worse than hogs,use their left hand with no toilet paper,does god knows what with goats,and probably have more fleas than most dogs,yet they consider them filthy.
