Yes, leadpenny and other defeatists on this forum are not to be seen on threads that talks about our victories against the terrorists, but of course they will participate passionately in the threads of car bombs and negative news. These people have no shame.

I said this before last week and I would like to repeat it again. Almost 10 days ago, I was monitoring one of the terrorist voice chat rooms. One guy who said that he lives in Iraq took the microphone and started to talk in almost a crying voice saying that "Jihad has failed in Iraq, and that the Iraqis are cowards and the vast majority of them do not want the Moujaheeden and the islamic state, but rather they want to live like the Americans". He ended his speech by saying to the members of the rooms "do not look for Jihad in Iraq it is all over". I was so happy to hear this.

That is grass-roots / street level realities that AQ and their mimics are starting to have to face. All the "MO" is on our side.....Progress on the whole continues each and every day....

There are very real reasons to believe AQ has begun to pull out of Iraq (resources are starting to flow back to Pak).

Utmost respect and admiration to all the fallen who paid the ultimate price for the purchase of time in order for the tribal leaders to see we are not the bad guys but the honorable ones who bought freedom for the Iraqi people with the bravest of our young as we said from the beginning.
Thank God for a General who has seen the proper strategy in choosing one enemy to join with in order to vanquish another and now the rest will eventually be up to the leaders, possibly the solution can come from the bottom up the sunnis and shias working together to expel alqueda ,can build a united Iraq

"MSM"

The media is looking on at what's happening with deep chagrin. This (success in Iraq) wasn't supposed to be happening. AT this time American troops were supposed to be slinking home in defeat with triumphant terrorists jumping up and down and shouting in jubilation before CNN and BBC cameras. Things are not going according to script by Big Media expectations.

In the spring of 2007 in AO Denver (western Al Anbar) RCT-7 established an operational formula that met the situation...

Presence - You have to be out confronting the enemy visibly and showing the people you are there to protect and serve them

Patience - it takes time to change opinions and perceptions. “Political” change will take time to take effect.

Persistence - Stick with the strategy. There will be set backs and losses but unless the terrorists can organize platoon size operations they remain strategically and operationally on the defensive, even if they retain the tactical initiative due to the nature of the fight.

and

Will - You must show the Iraqis that we will be here until it is over on our terms. They have a “survival” chromosome in their genes and will side with the side they believe will win. You must believe you will win and make them believe that together we will win.

A partnership was constructed informally and very low keyed with tribal leaders and the results began to manifest themselves by December when the Sunni Sheiks started to join the political process.

Iraqi attitudes continue to shift toward secular values

So far, the surveys show a decline in popular support for religious government in Iraq and an increase in support for secular political rule.

Wow! Now that is good news!

Someday I'm going to ask you for the easiest websites, books, tapes, etc for learning Arabic. There's no reason not to know the language in this world we now live in.

Bad news for Boss Nancy and Dingy Harry. America is supposed to LOSE the War! Things aren't going according to the Democrats' plan.

It is good news indeed.

I think the Arabic should be the priority language that our intelligence folks should learn. We are going to face the terrorist enemy for a long time and in the vast majority of cases their communications will be in Arabic.

I think the best way to learn Arabic is to go to a school and studied it for a year or two. Arabic is a difficult language and although it may be possible to learn it alone via books and tapes it is better to learn from a live instructor.
