He’s already a “leader” in his Church. Don’t you think it might be just a tad bit impotant to find out about his church since he cleary (in this video) stated he was a Church LEADER as both a Bishop and Stake President.
JF Kennedy wasn’t the Bishop of a diocese for heaven’s sake, the equivalent of a Mormon Stake President (Romney has held this position). It is the Romney campaign committee that keeps drawing parallels between Kennedy and Romney, but in reality Kennedy’s beliefs weren’t central to his character and his life in the same way that Romney’s are. The parallels just don’t exist,
You conman false prophet was concerned enough about a lack of him in the Bible, he rewrote the Bible to include fabricated prophecies of his coming ‘in these latter days.’ And that’s information from your LDS site, BTW. But rewriting the Bible to include thousands of words not in the Hebrew is okay to a cult such as Mormonism. Scoff and ridicule and condescend at the opposition to your cult, your own source materials expose the truth about your cult and thus expose the flaw in Mittster’s spiritual capacity.
It no longer surprises me when a Mormonism follower posts a scripture verse out of Bible context claiming it authorizes the idiocies and heresies at the heart of Mormonism. The passage from John was spoken to Jews, Jesus’s disciples at the time, not yet of the Church, and Jesus was speaking of the Church age when gentiles would be brought into the Grace of God. But keep up the cultish dissembling and twisting, you make good education for those unaware of the demonic nature in Mormonism’s foundations.
Here we go again, how many times have you posted this? At least a couple dozen I think...
I watched the entire video and Mitt’s responses were appropriate. Please note that words like “testily” “incredulously” “explained” “struck back” were not part of the dialog but were added to color the event. It helps to watch the video unfiltered and unadorned.
Your excerpt was a the tail end, after Mickelson had insisted on making Mormonism the topic of the show. He badgered and interrupted Romney both on-air and in the breaks. Mitt was affable and responded with reason throughout. Let’s present your excerpt without the color commentary:
Mickelson: “I hope we can do this so we can expend some quality time on here rather than the sound bytes.”
Romney: “No, I don’t like coming on the air and having you go after me and my church.”
Mickelson: “I’m not going after your church; I agree with your church!”
Romney: “I’m not running as a Mormon, and I get a little tired of coming on a show like yours and having it all about Mormon.”
Mickelson: “See, I don’t mind about it being all about that.”
Romney: “I do. I do.”
Even in your excerpt, Mickelson is being unreasonable and making it all about Mormonism despite Romney's protests.
Mickelson pushed too hard and forced a confrontation that Romney handled well. I, for one, am tired of the Mormon emphasis. We don't do that with Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Jews, or even Muslims. It's Muslims who are practicing terrorism, not Mormons.
And the truth about your conman prophet hasn’t changed. Not all those you apologists try to ridicule and condescend over have yet read the blatant demonic works of Joe Smith. Would you like for me to post the LDS link to Smith’s rewrite of the Bible, especially the additions to Genesis like the 800 plus words at the end of chapter 50?
We don't have a muslim running for POTUS...yet.
Even in your excerpt, Mickelson is being unreasonable and making it all about Mormonism despite Romney's protests.
And, you don't think Mitt will meet more "unreasonable" interviewers? Sorry, I don't agree with your assessment of Mitt's handling of the matter. Time will tell.
GO ahead, I can post a few more too, it’s amazing how many prophecies are in the bible about the dispensation of teh fullness of times. This will be fun.
Good Sabbath BTW!
Wasn’t talking about the posts, talking about the article.
“You are being bullied”
You can only be bullied if you allow yourself to be. I try to keep my posts and questions above board and even attempt to respond to rude people as nicely as possible.
I don’t always succeed.
“Maybe because he’s running for President of the US, not bishop of his Church.”
I bet even that cross-dresser from New York would be willing to talk about it’s religion as opposed to its pro-abortion stance.
And I bet Rudy would too.

The laugh of the fool echoes in his heart, causing him to think he is someone of significance because of the sound he hears. Let him who has ears to hear understand what the Spirit speaks.

Oh, well. So much for His endorsement.
There is no bigot like a "Christian" bigot. You need to grow up and learn some respect for your betters. hinckley buzzard, Post No. 150
Your vile attacks grow even more vile. If you are representative of the Christian faith, I'm not sure why we Mormons are so quick to defend our association with the term Christian. Post no. 92 by Spiff
This is the giant cow pie that the anti-Mormon bigots always hide behind when called on their constant bigotry in the Mitt Romney threads." "You're a throw back to the times when Mormon women were raped, children were beaten, and the men were killed by mobs." Post No. 94 by Spiff
I knew there were some number anti-Mormon religious bigots on this site, but I didnt realize that Free Republic apparently condones their behavior until this evening. I will have to rethink my commitment here. I do not want to be associated with anything like this. Post 118 by claudiustg
Im not sure that I can continue donating to a website that condones this kind of religious intolerance and harassment. Post No. 62 by Spiff
Calls by Spiff for censorship of the thread, suggestions that donations will be cut off, and of course the usual hateful name-calling.
“Why would one be agitated to comment on what his church stands for?”
Because there’s so much misinformation and ignorance running rampant out there when it comes to the LDS Church. (Duh.)
Jesus Christ is my Savior, Redeemer and personal Friend. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful to Heavenly Father for sending His Son to die for me to save me from my sins. The Holy Ghost tells me it’s true.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I wish people would stop telling lies about my faith and my candidate.
Just think of it as a FRatwā. ;)
Wow! I watched the entire video and I have never been more proud of Mitt Romney. He made mincemeat out of that radio talk show guy. Mincemeat. It was creepy that they videotaped Mitt without his knowledge but the outcome is definitely PRO MITT.
Fabulous. Thanks for posting it even though your intention was apparently to put Mitt down. I suppose you think not too many people will actually take the time to watch the video.
Any fair minded person who watches the video in its entirety will see that Mitt Romney handled himself spectacularly. I am so proud.
Catholics are cannibals, Baptists handle snakes, etc, etc, etc. All easily disproven.
On the other hand, the LDS funkiness is right there in your doctrine.
Smith established a religion which had as its base premise, that since the death of the last Apostle, ONLY through Mormon baptism or proxy baptism for the long dead can those who confess or confessed Jesus as Lord be Saved! Such a gross heresy must be opposed. That some cannot see it is heresy is telling of their lacking spiritual discernment.
And now we have a man running for President who believes these heresies. He is a family man, a clean man, unlike sinkEmperor, but he is no less lost to God's counsel. Should America embrace such a man because he is a clean man yet holds to gross heresies? In clinton's degeneracy we had clear indication that such a man should not be embraced, and we are still reaping the fruit of that man ruling this nation.
That is the question folks don't want to ask, Saundra, should we embrace a clean man who holds strong heresies as truth? And what will be the fruit we endure following such an man's rule? Sweetness and light do not issue from gross heresies, Saundra, despite how clean looking is Mitt the Mormon.
You apparently did not watch the video. If the other candidates for president had to go through the same scrutiny and interrogations about their faith, I would agree with you, but as Romney points out, he is running for president, not for a church office. Romney said he has a perfect pro life voting record when he was governor. That should have been the end of the discussion. The radio guy was combative but Mitt Romney held his own and then some. I am so proud of Mitt Romney, I can’t tell you. Give the guy a break; it took guts to sit there and take all that meaningless drivel. Romney wants to talk about the issues. He wants to be the President for everyone.
God is fashioning mansions for the believers in His Son, Jesus Christ. Would you be horribly offended if yours came complete with its own planet? Eye has not seen . . .
I thought as much.
Joseph Smith was a Prophet who predicted he would be known for good and evil. I know him for good and you know him for evil. He was only a 14-year-old kid when he saw the vision, and ever since, he has been known for good and evil.
“I agree. It is one of the saddest threads I’ve ever seen — full of religious bigotry and inexplicable hatred. These kinds of threads are an embarrassment to FR.
Yet, every cloud has a silver lining. I think the sheer vileness of some of his detractors makes Romney look better by comparison and attracts sympathizers to his side, as other threads of this ilk have done.”
Never forget that not all posters on FR are Conservatives or even Republicans. I can see some left-winger laughing his head off after posting some of this garbage.
Jesus Christ is my Savior. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are a peculiar people; I will grant you that.
A fool can appear to be wise if he just keeps his big mouth shut. (My interpretation of a Scripture found in Proverbs.)
And the spam continues...
This has turned into another Mormon bashing thread. Bye bye. I love my Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Jesus Christ is my Savior; Heavenly Father sent His only begotten Son to die for me to save me from my sins; and the Holy Ghost seals it as the Truth.
Bye Saundra, thank you for your pure and sincere testimony of Jesus Christ! Have a great Sunday, I’m out too.
Actually, if every self-identified group has at least 30%
who say they will not vote for a mormon, I’d call that
pretty uniform. Why isn’t there a single group -
like white women over 55, who are willing to vote for
a mormon in higher numbers???
Truthfully, neither you or I know whether the polled
numbers are accurate or not. I take them for what they
say they are until another poll shows something else.
You take them as false, because you do not like them,
despite any evidence to support your view. Why???
“So Mitts a Mormon..Im Catholic. SO WHAT!! He believes in the SAME God that I do (ie., NOT Allah).”
Is it that you do not know the God of Catholicism or that
you do not know the very different god of mormonism (of which
there are a great many)??
“God is fashioning mansions for the believers in His Son, Jesus Christ. Would you be horribly offended if yours came complete with its own planet? Eye has not seen . . .”
This is a foolish, given that scripture doesn’t say
anything beyond “mansion”. The whole explantion/justification
for the mormon belief that each mormon male can become
the god of his own planet has no Biblical evidence.
Does this common “mormon saying” come with a Bible reference
that actually might mean what you wrote???
No. It is simply another bizarre mormon belief.
“I just don’t think they go and vote for Methodist Hitlery because their other choice is a Mormon.”
No doubt that the unbridled perception of an evil hilldabeast
will overcome fears of a cultist...
But there are two other possibilities:
1. A confused mind always says “no”
2. Abstention based on conscience
Neither would help Mitt in a general.
PS - I suspect we will see updated polling before long. The
mormon issue will be inspected very closely since it is
numerically, a fringe religion.
You killed off any credibility you had labored to find with the Bible passages that ever so vaguely address Mormonism. The party line was that it was translated from golden plates that John Smith just happened to dig up in his back yard with the aid of a seer stone and a toad and a Moronic angel. These plates were engraved in something called Reformed Egyptian. (That out to give you pause since Egyptians were Idol worshiping Pagans!)
Natives of the Americas had no written language that could in any way be tied to the writings in the B of M. So the story gets more fanciful that Egyptians came over the Atlantic and imbued the primitives with their language and writing. And out of that the Indians were to derived Reformed Egyptian, no less, and the rustic well digger John Smith was able to translate a language he had no acquittance of and put it all into a book.
How can anyone with an iota of intelligence take all this as anything but a very tall fairy tale ?
>>>The New Testament does not allow for the addition of these writings in the 19th century as an addendum to it. The thing that distinguishes Christianity from Mormonism is the book of Mormon, and therein lies all the bogusness. You are right but I am righter...<<<
Says who? The Nicean Council? I’ll note that Catholics claim that revolution never ends, and this seems far more correct to me than the traditional Protestant shutting of divine revelation after the Bible. And I say that as a Protestant.
