De profundis (Psalm 129 Latin vulgate and Douay...)

De profundis clamavi ad te Domine, Domine exaudi vocem meam.
Fiant aures tuae intendentes in vocem deprecationis meae.
Si iniquitates observaveris Domine, Domine quis sustinebit?
Quia apud te propitiatio est et propter legem tuam sustinui te Domine.
Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus, speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem speret Israel in Domino,

Amen.

Out of the depths I have cried to thee, O Lord: Lord, hear my voice.
Let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
If thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities: Lord, who shall stand it?
For with thee there is merciful forgiveness: and by reason of thy law, I have waited for thee, O Lord.
My soul hath relied on his word: my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.
Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with him plentiful redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be
world without end. Amen.

And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty. And all nations shall be gathered together before him, and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left. Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in:

Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee? Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me.
-- Matthew 25: 31-40

He is the one who wrote the tough crossword puzzles for the National Review.

When did he stop doing the crosswords? Because I know that they got really bad sometime in the mid-1980s.

Shock is not even the word to use concerning this information. I had no idea he was sick. My heart goes out to his family and his Freeper Family.

I know you and him were close, Bykrbayb, and I am sure this must be hitting you hard. I will pray for all of his loved ones and those whom he considered very good friends on FR. I did chat with T'wit and found him to be very dedicated to the things he believed in.

May God continue to bless his family. I know how much he loved FR. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Savior.

He had told me that he was with National Review for a long time, but I wasn’t aware how pivotal a role he played.

He went peacefully, and quickly into Our Lord’s arms, much unlike those victims of euthanasia for whom he fought. We did not know the exact cause of his death. Time may disclose it.

I am reminded of that silly phrase of the sound of one hand clapping, but it describes how things are. It is like the co-pilot taking over after the pilot has gone.

It is not a change of pace on this thread, but is a continuation of just what T'wit has charged, that we continue. At this point in my morning posts, I expect T'wit has had his first cup of coffee and is starting to read through my first comments, about to comment or quip very soon. It leaves me great emptiness that those words will not follow on in a few minutes.

This is about one of T'wit's deep concerns.

Roozrokh had gone to San Luis Obispo to help recover Navarro's organs. Roozrokh prescribed inordinate amounts of painkillers and injected an antiseptic into Navarro's stomach to speed up death and enable his organs to be extracted more quickly, said authorities who brought criminal charges, the Chronicle reported.

If the charges are true, "the cascade effect is likely to produce a chilling effect on organ donation," Southern Baptist bioethicist C. Ben Mitchell told Baptist Press.

The researchers acknowledged their study involved only this patient, although they plan to try it with other patients. They also said the treatment would not help patients considered to be in a persistent vegetative state, such as Terri Schiavo, and likely would not work with those who are worse off in the minimally conscious range.

Schiavo, who died in 2005 after being taken off water and food at her husband's request, received electrode implants but they were not successful, according to The Inquirer. Some experts believed Schiavo was not in a persistent vegetative state.

"I can't tell you how many women I know who've been pressured into aborting by a boyfriend, husband or parent," said Georgette Forney, co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, in a written release. "Everyone in every state should support this type of legislation. After all, how could someone who says he's pro-choice oppose a law that tells a woman she has a choice?"

Martin Frost writes...

It really frosts me when supposedly learned experts squiggle in the most limp of time worn mantra lies to make their faux points.

It was the 11th U.S. Circuit that ultimately decided the Terri Schiavo case, which held that Congress could not require the courts to continue life support for a woman who had been in an irreversible coma for years. The U.S. Supreme Court then refused to get involved in this matter.

~Snip~

Though the case was not heard during my clerkship, Judge Hughes authored the lower court decision in the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade. The U.S. Supreme Court later affirmed Judge Hughes' opinion, which remains the law of the land today.

Time flies. It is already Rudy Tuesday again...

Thread from wagglebee...

Des Moines, IA (LifeNews.com) -- As he campaigns ahead of a critical statewide straw poll this week, pro-abortion ex-New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected to confront the issue of abortion. The emphasis on overcoming objections pro-life Republican voters have about his pro-abortion position comes as one poll shows few GOPers know he backs abortion.

Rudy to the core...

Thread by wagglebee:

Des Moines, IA (LifeNews.com) -- During Sunday's Republican presidential debate, pro-abortion former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was asked to defend his position on abortion. He did so by repeating a dubious claim about the supposed exponential growth of adoptions during his tenure as mayor of one of the most pro-abortion cities in the nation.

"I believe the best way we can have common ground in this debate that you're hearing is if we put our emphasis on reducing abortions and increasing the number of adoptions, which is something that I did as mayor of New York City," he claimed.

"But I think ultimately that decision that has to be made is one that government shouldn't make," Giuliani said, restating his pro-abortion views. "Ultimately, a woman should make that with her conscience and ultimately with her doctor."

Thread by wagglebee.

Sacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) -- Backers of the bill that would have legalized assisted suicide in California fell short in June from having enough votes to advance the measure in the state Assembly. Now, as they and others look back on the latest defeat the power of the disability community to stop the bill is coming to light.

When lawmakers try to legalize assisted suicide, pro-life advocates and members of the medical community get involved to protect the elderly and disabled.

He just celebrated his seventieth birthday last month. His wife had planned for many months a surprise party for him aboard a boat on the Hudson and invited family from around the globe. I was there, and took at least the pic (with his camera) of him with birthday cake in post #41 above.

Tim was certainly young in spirit and wit.

I call it murder. It gets tough for me to simply copy the terms softened by the MSM and the rank baloney of lies they repeat without rest. It keeps my adreneline flowing, though.

What I miss is that I would post the articles and T’wit would have a go at them minutes later and be sure none of those lies slipped through unnoticed.

He worked military intelligence during the height of the cold war. So you are right, he could detect DECEIT, but I bet he never thought he would have to do it right here in our own country years latter. I don't think any of us could've envisioned that prospect, but that is what we face.

One step further. She was forbidden by the Greer court to take any nourishment by mouth. She may of very well of chosen to try to sustain herself by mouth. To deny that, by court order, is murder.
