A French rap star who supports right-wing French President Nicolas Sarkozy was pelted with projectiles and booed off stage at a concert in Geneva, local press reports said Saturday.
Dozens of spectators at the opening free concert of a two-week summer festival staged a mini-riot at the appearance of singer Doc Gyneco, forcing the organisers to cancel the show after half-an-hour, the reports said.
Two men were arrested, the daily La Tribune de Geneve reported.
I'm going to cut Doc Gyneco (if that really is his name) some slack since he apparently got the stones to publicly back Sarkozy. An American rapper that supported the GOP would immediately lose all "street cred" and he'd never get any coverage by the MSM.

I’ll see your Prince and raise you a Jimi Hendrix. I had to go back and make sure this was accurate before I posted but back in ‘67 the Monkees took Jimi Hendrix on tour as their opening act. The pre-teen white girls who were there to see the Monkees basically booed Jimi offstage by shouting “we want Davy”, etc. He lasted for 7 shows and that was that.

The crowd I was in was there to see the Stones, though I'm not certain that's why they booed Prince. There were many other acts that were all well received. The way I remember it, it had more to do with the song he was singing at the time.

I went to see U2 at teh Cow Palace in 84. A Madona impersonater was one of the opening acts. She got hit by a thrown shoe.
Kind of funny.
She deserved to get hit with a shovel, she was terrible.

I saw the Stones at Anaheim Stadium in the late 70s. For reasons I've never understood the crowd started throwing their shoes at the stage. Mick Jagger was dodging flying shoes for ten minutes before he finally stopped right in the middle of a song and told the crowd "ok, go ahead if you must and throw your damned shoes". For the next 20 minutes that's what they did. When it was over there were shoes stacked 2' deep on stage. It took another 20 minutes to clear them. Then the concert continued.
I'll never understand why someone would want to throw their shoes especially at somone they liked. But it happened, I was there.

got pushed through the glass doors the next morning,short people were passing out,it was exhausting

The Stones were a great show. I was a kid back then; I’ll be 50 in November. It’s hard to believe they’re at it still entertaining a new generation.
The show at the Cow Palace was when they still could do general admission shows. So as soon as someone, anyone, walked onto the stage, everyone started to push towards rhe stage. I learn to always wear converse hightops to a concert. No matter what, noone can step on the back of your shoe and get it off.
Throwing shoes used to be a huge part of concert going.
see not all of the gangsta rappers are shills for the Dems (ie. Kanye West).
