Article Details Torture That Mastermind Said He Endured
Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, was subjected to the CIA's harshest interrogation methods while he was held in secret prisons around the world for more than three years, part of an interrogation regimen that the International Committee of the Red Cross has called "tantamount to torture," according to a New Yorker article to be published on the magazine's Web site today.
In a 12-page article released yesterday, reporter Jane Mayer analyzes the development of the CIA's secret interrogation techniques and writes that a confidential ICRC report to the U.S. government details Mohammed's assertions that he was tortured by the CIA. Unnamed Washington sources told Mayer that Mohammed said he was held naked in his cell, questioned by female interrogators to humiliate him, attached to a dog leash and made to run into walls, and put in painful positions while chained to the floor. Mohammed also said he was "waterboarded" -- a simulated drowning -- in addition to being held in suffocating heat and painfully cold conditions. Mohammed's captors also told him shortly after his arrest in March 2003: "We're not going to kill you. But we're going to take you to the very brink of your death and back," the article said.

Too bad no one is allowed to post the beheading pictures
which would reveal this pseudo-torture for what it is.
Too bad no one is allowed to post anymore pics of the dead
inflicted in Spain, England, Russia, Israel and America
which would reveal this pseudo-torture for what it is.
Too bad FR is now censored so no one anywhere can see
the truth.

I think that Daniel Pearls family ought to have been allowed to assist in his interrogation if they might have wished to do so. The WaPo lefty puke writer neglected to mention that this guy is who sawed of his head on camera and distributed it.

Bottom line, we were able to put some major players and their operations out of business and I don’t care what our guys had to do to get that information from a scumbag like KSM.

Perhaps the CIA should have consulted with La Cosa Nostra on their techniques, we might have been able to get even more out of him
When it comes to these people, whatever it takes to get information out of them is fine by me. They can start at their ankles and fire a round through them. Move to their knees, hips, elbows, shoulder and groin if necessary. Then put one throught their forehead to be done with it.

In general, I'm not in favor of torture (unless it can extract information that can save lives). But I'm having a particularly hard time feeling sorry for the man who masterminded the horrible murders of 3,000 of our citizens.
And the Red Cross can kiss my hinney. They've become nothing but a leftist organization. I never give them a cent.

The WOT and the West in general is doomed if this kind of thinking ever becomes majority thought.
We are dealing with people for whom life has no meaning and there are no second thoughts about torturing, mutilating and killing innocent people to further their evil cause.
Orgs like the ICRC had better pull their collective heads out of their asses while they're still attached.

Mohammed also said he was "waterboarded" -- a simulated drowning -- in addition to being held in suffocating heat and painfully cold conditions. "Tantamount to torture" is not torture. Still, this was what McPain and his buddies were trying to prohibit the CIA from doing. DOD regulations forbid the uniformed services from using these techniques, but they have been permitted for CIA.
So, we might ask, why did McStain defame the uniformed services by accusing them of using "torture" when they didn't just to take away from CIA the stress interrogation techniques that caused KSM and his cronies to sing like canaries??? And this guy thought I would vote for him for Commander in Chief???

Here's the predictablereply I got from one of the authors of the article:
Thank you for taking the time to write, as I always appreciate hearing from readers. As I'm sure you know, there have been several people convicted of Daniel Pearl's murder, and Khalid Sheik Mohammed is not one of them. If you read the New Yorker article, you will also see that there is great doubt about whether or not KSM was involved in that crime or not, as he has claimed responsibility for crimes officials believe he had nothing to do with.
That said, I don't know how appropriate it is to judge the actions of the United States against the actions of terrorists. If you want this nation to sink to their level, so be it, but Congress and the American people have thus far rejected that notion. Of course beheading people is grotesque, inhumane and illegal behavior; that in no way justifies the U.S. taking similar -- or even remotely similar -- action. As the world's leader in almost every aspect, this nation holds itself out as the beacon of light, a just and right nation setting the example for the rest of the world. If you feel that keeping men naked in extreme temperatures, causing them to believe that they are drowning and near death, chaining them in stress positions, sexually humiliating them and preventing them from having lawyers or contact with their family is how you would want U.S. soldiers treated if they were captured by a major world power, then the U.S. is acting appropriately, in your view. While KSM and others like him may very well be guilty of crimes against humanity and deserve harsh punishment, the last I checked he has not been tried in a court of law nor has been convicted of anything. For a member of a society that believes in the rule of law, you sure are quick to condemn a man before any evidence has been presented to a judge, jury, or court.
Just thoughts to consider.
Sincerely,
Josh White
