Hey, it’s a free country. If people are willing to pay to hear him talk, you can hardly criticize him for taking advantage of it.

Criticizing what he has to say is something else entirely ....

I have to laugh at that headline and article. I’m reminded of David Brinkley’s remarks late in the evening of Clinton’s re-election victory. They were close to signing off when Brinkley, not knowing his mic was open, said something like “Clinton hasn’t said anything memorable or interesting in his entire presidency... he’s an absolute bore!” When one of his colleagues told him that he was speaking live, I don’t think he even attempted or pretended to take any of it back. At the end of his career, Brinkley was a really refreshing newsman. I think he knew what a slimey profession he was a part of. Anyway: pity the poor dupes that pay this huge $ to hear the R*pist in Chief hold forth on whatever blather he’s speaking about.

Where are the people who roundly criticized Ronald Reagan for doing the same thing?

You’ll notice that not one of these speeches takes place in Africa. I thought he was the first African-American president.
I thought he cared so much about his brown brothers.
I thought he would personally end the AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa.
“Where have you gone Billy Clinton, a continent turns its lonely eyes to you. Woo ooh ooh.”

Is it not a violation of the law for Clinton to give speeches IF his wife becomes president? AND, should that (GOD FORBID) take place, what would CLinton do while he is barred from making all that money in speech giving?
The biggest question is: knowing this, would Clinton hinder his wife from making it to the white house?

No.
He/they can’t wait to get back in the WH.
He’ll gladly temporarily eschew that money for the power the presidency will bring.

No way he keeps her from getting to the White House. Money from speeches is hardly their only route to more of that “decade of greed” they so denigrated.

Remember the Clintons perfected the shake down while in the WH. There is plenty more money to be had than from speeches alone. Jut think of the WH power to money routes yet again. More national secretes to sell and pardons to dole out for the right price. Its called making money the Clintanoid way.

I don’t think Ronald Reagon wanted to take profits from hard working companies to pay for more gov’t.
